According to the Marvel website, a new band of superheroes is coming out of hiding. Part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, these ancient aliens have been living on Earth in secret for thousands of years. 'Eternals' Plot: What Is It All About?

The Eternals' story goes way back to 1976, when they made their comic book debut. The Eternals introduces a race of super-powered aliens to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, who made their comic book debut in 1976. It was Powerful Celestials (if the name sounds familiar, that's because they were talked about in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies) who created the Eternals.

They also created a rival race named The Deviants. The Eternals will reunite and come out of hiding to fight against their monstrous mutating rivals. With great superheroes comes great supernatural abilities. The superheroes are potentially capable of incredible feats as flight, super-strength, and durability.

Who Will Be In The Cast Of 'Eternals'?

Hollywood A-lister Angelina Jolie will star as the ultra-powerful warrior Thena. The mother-of-six told PEOPLE, she's excited to be part of the franchise. “What’s really moving to me is that they want to see me strong, and so it’s less to see me in a film, but they’re just happy I will be strong and having fun,” Jolie, 45, said of her kids. The Eternals will also star Salma Hayek and former Game of Thrones star Richard Madden. The Bodyguard star has been confirmed as Ikaris, known for his many superhuman powers (including strength, flight, a healing factor, psychic powers, durability, and manipulating cosmic energy).

The Big Sick’s Kumail Nanjiani will take on the role of master swordsman Kingo Sunen. Kit Harington who played fan-favorite Jon Snow in Game of Thrones, will also feature in Eternals as superhero Black Knight. Madden, his former co-star, said he was excited to work with Kit again. "It’s brilliant,” Madden told EW. “It’s been about 10 years since we’ve worked together, I think. So we’ve moved on a bit onto different things, so I’m really excited to get back on set.” We can't wait!
