The Rock Accused Of Causing $50 million In Expenses After Arriving Eight Hours Late For A Movie Shoot.

Dwayne Johnson has reportedly racked up a huge bill for Amazon MGM Studios after reaching late to filming.

Dwayne Johnson

One of the most adored and well-known actors in all of Hollywood is Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. With an excellent résumé, he has undoubtedly fostered a reputation as one of the planet's hardest-working celebrities. His filmography is rather wide as well, spanning from Jumanji to the Fast & Furious franchise.

Red One, Johnson's upcoming film, is scheduled for release in November 2024, but things don't seem to be going as planned.

The official summary for the movie reads: "When a villain kidnaps Santa Claus from the North Pole, an E.L.F. (Extremely Large and Formidable) operative joins forces with the world's most accomplished tracker to find him and save Christmas."

The film's creators attributed the postponement to the labor strikes that occurred the previous year, with the original release date set for Christmas 2023. But The Wrap claims that the whole tale is far more complicated. The site has been informed by insiders that Johnson arrived at the filming location up to eight hours late, thus causing the production to reshoot scenes around him.

The actor is said to have incurred $50 million in expenses as a result.

A representative for Amazon MGM, however, refuted any issues with Red One and any delays brought on by Johnson's tardiness in a statement given to The Wrap.

A representative for the movie remarked, "Dwayne Johnson and Seven Bucks have been incredible partners on Red One—a film that audiences of all ages are going to love this holiday season."

“Our testing has been very strong - the reaction from CinemaCon speaks for itself - and we couldn’t have made it without Dwayne’s constant work and support.

"Any reporting that implies that we got to this point with him showing up seven-eight hours late to set is both ridiculous and false.”
