1. The Dead Don't Die (2019)

The most recent movie of Selena Gomez is 'The Dead Don't Die' that released on June 14, 2019. Selena plays the role of Zoe, who is one of the survivors of the zombie apocalypse. The horror comedy is directed by Jim Jarmusch. Zoe along with her friends escape the flesh-eating zombies who have invaded the small town of Centerville while the cops Cliff, played by Bill Murray, Ronnie, played by Adam Driver, and Mindy, played by Chloë Sevigny try to help and save the town at any cost. Other survivors include Posie Juarez (Rosie Perez), Bobby Wiggins (Caleb Landry Jones), Hermit Bob (Tom Waits), and Farmer Miller (Steve Buscemi) are the other survivors of the zombie apocalypse. Austin Butler, RZA and Danny Glover also join the cast.

2. A Rainy Day in New York (2019)

Woody Allen's 'A Rainy Day In New York' was done with its production in October 2017. However, the release was halted after Allen got into a controversy. After the controversy, the producing partner Amazon Studios gave up the project due to the U.S. release of the movie encountering some hiccups. Apart from Selena, the cast includes Elle Fanning, Timothée Chalamet, Jude Law, and Diego Luna. The story revolves around a couple played by Fanning and Chalamat, who go for a weekend getaway to Manhattan cityscape. However, the weekend getaway gets ruined due to bad weather and Fanning's failed plan to meet her screen icon. The movie has been picked up for release across European, South American and Asian territories. 

3. The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle (2020)

Another big project in Selena's basket is this movie which is based on the children's book series by Hugh Lofting. It is a live-action/CG hybrid from Universal with tight and talented cast members. Robert Downey Jr. will be playing the role of Dr. Dolittle who has the quality of speaking to CG animals. The other cast includes Tom Holland, Rami Malek, John Cena, Kumail Nanjiani, Selena Gomez, Emma Thompson, Ralph Fiennes, Octavia Spencer, and Marion Cotillard. Selena has lent her voice to the character of Betsy who is a giraffe. The storyline revolves around weird events that follow after Dr. Dolittle starts treating animals instead of human patients. It was reported, that the movie is undergoing major re-shoots. The movie is directed by Stephen Gaghan from a script he co-wrote with Thomas Shepherd. ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle’ is scheduled for a January 17, 2020 release.

Selena Gomez and Aaron Kaplan are producing the drama series called 'Rising' for Freeform. The project is set in a lower-middle-class Latino neighborhood. It is a story about an 18-year-old girl who ventures on a journey to new adventures and heights. Gomez executive produces the series along with Kaplan’s Kapital Entertainment and Mandy Teefey.
