The Haunting Of Bly Manor is considered the follow-up season to The Haunting of Hill House but it will be a completely different story in the anthology series.
This new story is based on the1898 novella The Turn of the Screw by Henry James. It follows a young woman who moves to the English countryside to care for two orphaned children. But, strange things begin to happen.
Showrunner Mike Flanagan spoke to Vanity Fair and mentioned that three love stories will be at the core of this new season.
It certainly provides a new way to tell a love story, and there are three of them really that beat at the heart of this season. They all have a very dark edge to them. And by the end, it’s really hard to differentiate tragedy with romance. That sense of romantic longing for someone who meant so much to us—but who’s gone—really is the heart of any ghost story.
This new season will star a lot of familiar faces from the first season. Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Victoria Pedretti will return in major roles as completely different characters.
Jackson-Cohen will play Peter, “a resident of Bly Manor, who makes life very difficult for everyone who lives there.”
Pedretti will play the governess, Dani, who "looks after two very unusual children."
Henry Thomas, Kate Siegel, Lulu Wilson, and Catherine Parker will also be a part of the new season.
It's possible that The Haunting Of Bly Manor will premiere in time for Halloween.
