Doina's struggle as a half-human and half-vampire has just began.
If you're a fan of the Twilight saga and Vampire Diaries, then there's a good chance that you might be interested in Netflix's Vampires as well.
Unlike other vampire shows, Vampires see vampirism as a result of the viral outbreak and genetic mutations.
The French drama-fantasy-horror series landed on Netflix a few months ago and has already gathered a huge fan base. After ending in a cliffhanger, let's find out what's in store for Vampires.
Is season 2 coming soon? Here's what we know.
Netflix is yet to renew Vampires for season 2. The show was released on Netflix on March 20, 2020. The streaming giant often takes a close look at a show's performance on its first 30 days in the platform. However, there are instances where Netflix takes a few months before announcing their decision.
Although Netflix is very secretive when it comes to viewership records, we can only hope that the recent pandemic has helped Vampires get more traction, while most people are stuck in their homes. Global lockdowns due to the Coronavirus pandemic started around mid-March, just in time for Vampire's release.
There are no official announcements yet, but considering the show gets renewed, it seems unlikely for us to see the follow-up season within the same month next year. If they manage to start filming by the end of the year, then we're expecting to see fresh new episodes at least by the last quarter of 2021 or early 2022.
Of course, further delays are very likely. All we could do for now is extend our patience.
'Vampires' follows a girl named Doina, who's cursed with a vampire gene. Her human father developed a medication to help Doina suppress her vampire tendencies.
In season one, we saw Doina succumbing to her thirst for blood. Now that she's confirmed she'd inherited the vampire genes from her mother, Doina's life is just about to get more dangerous.
The secret community of vampires now has their eyes on Doina, fearing that her abilities might be a threat to them.
If the show gets renewed for season 2, we're expecting bigger confrontations between Doina and the secret community.
Fear not. We're confident that Doina will certainly grow stronger each day as a vampire.
Season one also came up with a major twist that wrapped up in a cliffhanger.
At the end of season 1, Doina's human father Redouane became a vampire, and Andrea comes face-to-face with him.
How did Redouane become a vampire? What does he want? Why did he come back? We're expecting season 2 for answers.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but we're expecting major cast members to reprise their roles for Vampires season 2.
That includes Oulaya Amamra as Doina Radescu, Suzanne Clément as Martha Radescu, Aliocha Schneider as Ladislas Nemeth, Kate Moran as Csilla Nemeth, Mounir Amamra as Andrea Radescu, Juliette Cardinski as Irina Radescu, Pierre Lottin as Rad Radescu and Dylan Robert as Nacer among others.
The renewal is still pending, so we can't give an expected release date yet. One thing's certain for now: It will be a while before Vampire season 2 trailer drops. So while waiting, let's take a look at season 1's trailer instead.
