Tom & Jerry Live-Action Movie Drops Trailer

The classic 'frenemies' continue to battle in an upcoming film with Chloë Grace Moretz.

The first trailer for the upcoming Live-Action Tom & Jerry film has arrived, and the iconic duo is poised to bring their decades-old battle on the big screen.

The classic mouse and cat cartoon tandem will hilariously bring trouble to Chloë Grace Moretz', who plays hotel staff in an upcoming film set to release next year.

The film directed by Tim Story also stars  Rob Delaney, Michael Peña, Colin Jost, and Ken Jeong, along with the animated Tom and Jerry.

The plot follows Jerry, who has taken up residence in a posh New York hotel where a glamorous wedding will take place. A newly hired Kayla (Moretz) is warned of the mouse problem threatening to ruin the upcoming “wedding of the century."

Moretz enlists the help of a broke alley cat, Tom, to help get rid of Jerry, and the never-ending cat and mouse chase begins.

A bigger problem arises, and the two must learn to set aside the rivalry to defeat Kayla’s villainous boss, who is not fond of either one of them.

The upcoming film is based on the long-running cartoon created by Hanna-Barbera Productions.

Tom and Jerry first appeared in 1940 and have since produced more than 160 short films spanning decades. The duo has been a childhood favorite across generations.

The animation bagged several Oscars for the studio between 1943 and 1953.

This is not the first time for Tom and Jerry to bring their fights and banters on the big screen. Tom and Jerry appeared in an animated feature film in 1993.

In October last year, Moretz has confirmed that they have already wrapped up the production for Tom and Jerry.

In an interview with Collider, Moretz discussed what to expect in the upcoming live-action film.

"It is one of the hardest things I have ever done, it was so fun, and it is laugh out loud funny, and you're gonna see a completely different side to me that we've never seen before," Moretz said.

The actress further talked about how challenging it is to play the role and act against silent characters.

She's also reiterated how fun the upcoming film will be.

"I think everyone's gonna be a little shocked at how fun it is, it's really fun. It's like the wonderful 90s movies that we don't really see anymore, that are good family romps, " Moretz added.
