After almost four years of the announcement, the show is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on March 31, 2023, with only four episodes. The remaining series will be released weekly on the streamer and the last episode will air on May 12, 2023.
The official synopsis of the show is..."The Power is our world, but for one twist of nature. Suddenly, and without warning, teenage girls develop the power to electrocute people at will. The series features a cast of remarkable characters from London to Seattle, Nigeria to Eastern Europe, as the Power evolves from a tingle in teenagers’ collarbones to a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.
We will be seeing Leslie Mann and Toni Collette. The cast also includes Auli’i Cravalho, Halle Bush, Zrinka Cvitešić, and Ria Zmitrowicz. In an interview that Collete gave to Vanity Fair, she said, "When we were shooting, they showed us a teaser trailer cut together. It’s so incredibly cinematic, but I also found it so moving because seeing such a diverse range of female actors on screen was just so unusual. And it’s a story about women having agency, feeling safe and confident, and having some sense of sovereignty, so it’s very empowering to be a part of and to watch." Apart from these actors, we will also be seeing Toheeb Jimoh, John Leguizamo, Nico Hiragam, Heather Agyepong, Daniela Vega, Archie Rush, Garrison Machado, Pietra Castro, Eddie Marsan, Josh Charles, Edwina Findley, Rob Delaney, Alice Eve, Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, Avital Lvova, Sam Buchanan, Juliet Cowan, Simbi Ajikawo and Ana Ularu.
