Writer-Director Elegance Bratton brings to us a very fresh take on battle-ready warrior films with The Inspection. The movie follows the ordeal of new recruit Ellis French, a wannabe Marine who is young and wild and able and he is also gay, to the discomfort of almost everyone around him. His own mother is homophobic and has kicked French out of their home, leaving him homeless since the age of 16.

The story is inspired by Bratton's own story as a gay man joining the military, The inspection pledges to be a boot-camp survival story. It's on the track to be another LGBTQ classic from A24.
