The First Reactions To 'The Lion King' Is Here And It Is Getting Us Excited For Multiple Reasons!

One of the most anticipated movies of the year, the premiere of the movie happened yesterday and it looks pretty promising.

'The Lion King' had its worldwide premiere in Los Angeles and the first batch of reactions is already out. Director Jon Favreau re-imagined the Disney classic in a live-action movie and his previous live-adaptation of 'The Jungle Book' has managed to wow the fans. Once again, for the movie, he has gotten together a breathtaking vocal cast alongside all sorts of technological magic. But, does the 2019 version of 'The Lion King' managed to hold up to the expectation from the audience?

Well, you might be happy to learn that the first reactions from critics look pretty positive. Of course, one of the most important aspects of this movie is the visual effects, especially when the movie is all about animals, which are famously one of the trickiest things to animate well. Mike Ryan from Uproxx said, "It's the most beautiful effects movie I've seen. Like next level, the game has changed kind of thing."

Brandon Davis from Comicbook, said, "The attention to detail by Jon Favreau and the VFX team on The Lion King is just incredible. Beyond incredible. It looks so real so often." Laura Prudom from Nerdist compared the movie with that of the presentation from David Attenborough's series, she says, "Visually, it's stunning - an unparalleled technical achievement that's like watching a nature documentary."

The movie features a star-studded ensemble that includes Donald Glover, Beyonce, Seth Rogan, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, and James Earl Jones who is reprising his role as Mufasa. As reported by Adam B. Vary from Buzzfeed, he said, "Yes, Beyoncé is good in #TheLionKing — really good! Nala’s role is indeed bigger, and Bey suits it perfectly. There’s a moment when she tells Simba he’s “disappointed” her, and reader, the way Bey bit the “t” in that word chilled me and thrilled me. The movie? Welllll…"

As for others, there are a lot of show-stealing performances and a lot of people have praised Billy Eichner and Seth Rogan's take on Timon and Pumba. Ben Pearson from Slashfilm said that Eichner and Rogen steal the movie whereas Collider's Perri Nemiroff reckons the duo is 'everything'.
