'Sex/Life' Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

'Sex/Life' Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Billie, Brad, and Cooper's lives are about to get even more complicated. Will 'Sex/Life' return for season 2?

'Sex/Life,' the steamy drama series based on '44 Chapters About 4 Men' by BB Easton, is currently dominating Netflix's top 10 charts worldwide.

The series follows Billie, a suburban mother of two who feels bored and unfulfilled despite her seemingly perfect life with her husband, Cooper. She ends up fantasizing about the wild years she used to have and the hot ex-boyfriend she used to live with---Brad.

Brad unexpectedly comes back, and Billie soon finds herself torn between her past and present life.

The eight-episode raunchy series premiered on Netflix on June 24, 2021, and left viewers with a cliff-hanging ending.

Will the show return and give us a much-needed continuation? Here is what we know.

Will There Be 'Sex/Life' Season 2?

Netflix is yet to renew 'Sex/Life' for season 2, but don't worry because the future looks promising for the series. As of July 5, 2021, the show is currently dominating Netflix's top 10 in different countries. It sits at the number 1 spot in Australia, Brazil, France, Netherlands, New Zealand, and Spain, and number 2 in the UK, the US, Mexico, India, Germany, and Canada.

Netflix often waits at least a month to evaluate a show's performance before deciding whether to renew it or not. If we are lucky, we might hear about its renewal in late July or the next few months after that.

We will update this space once Netflix announces its verdict for season 2.

When Will 'Sex/Life' Season 2 Release?

We are still waiting for Netflix to greenlit the show for season 2. Assuming the show gets renewed very soon, the series will still have to undergo production and editing for the new season. That means season 2 won't likely be here until 2022. We will continue to monitor the latest updates and edit this space from time to time.

What Is The Plot Of 'Sex/Life' Season 2?

It's going to be even more complicated. After acknowledging her pent-up sexual frustrations in the first season, it is now time for Billie to choose the path she truly wants to take.

In the final moments of the first season, Billie reconciled with her husband Cooper and decided that the quiet, suburban life they built is enough. However, she changes her mind at the last minute and ran back to her ex-boyfriend, Brad.

Billie said that she doesn't want to leave her husband, but she also wants to pick up from where she and her ex-lover left off 10 years ago.

The new season will most likely follow Billie and Brad's budding sexual relationship, but what will happen to Cooper? That's what we have to find out.

Will Cooper agree to an open marriage? Or will Billie eventually settle with Brad and end up realizing what she is missing? And how about their children? How will this entire setup affect them in the long run? How about Brad, is he okay with Billie's proposition knowing that her husband won't be completely out of the picture?

Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Stacey Rukeyser says she doesn't know what Brad will choose, but they are hoping to explore his answer in season 2.

“I don't know what Brad is going to say to her. He really put his heart out there on the driveway and proposed a happily-ever-after to her, and that is not what she's proposing to him. I'm not sure if Brad will say yes to that or not. But that's what we're hoping to get a chance to explore in season two.”

Who Is Cast In 'Sex/Life' Season 2?

Based on where the first season ended, the regular cast will likely reprise their roles if the show gets renewed for season 2. They are:

Sarah Shahi as Billie Connelly, Mike Vogel as Cooper Connelly, Adam Demos as Brad Simon, and Margaret Odette as Sasha Snow.
