'Red Notice' Release Date: When Will 'Red Notice' Release On Netflix?

Listed release date as of this writing: Sometime in 2021
The much-anticipated action comedy film is coming to Netflix this year, but the exact release date is yet to be announced.

Lead stars Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds confirmed the news through Netflix's 2021 official movie preview, which promises new original films each week, all year round. (You can watch the video at the end of the article.)

'Red Notice' had a long history of delays long before it found its home on Netflix. The film is supposed to get released by Universal on November 13, 2020, after getting delayed from June 12, 2020 schedule.

Filming began in early 2020, but shortly after 'The Rock' shared the first look for the film, the production got halted by the Coronavirus pandemic.

The good thing is the team already wrapped up filming in November 2020, so we're confident that there will be no further delays.

'Red Notice' Plot: What Is 'Red Notice' All About?

The title itself refers to an Interpol alert to hunt and capture the world’s most wanted, in this case, an art thief and a conman played by Gadot and Reynolds. Johnson plays the role of the FBI’s top profiler, who will do everything to capture the two. However, when the three cross paths, they will be forced to work together for their mutual benefits.

Last November 2020, Johnson treated us to a sneak peek of the film. The actor shared a photo of him on Instagram, guarding Cleopatra’s Egg, described as " one of the rare and true priceless artifacts to ever exist."

"Are you sure you want to steal it on my watch," the actor captioned the photo. It looks like Cleopatra’s Egg will be the precious artifact that will bring the three together.

'Red Notice' Cast: Who Else Are Coming?

Aside from the A-list trio, not much is known about the casting details for the upcoming film yet. We know that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds will be joined by  'The Umbrella Academy' season two breakout star Ritu Arya and 'Silicon Valley' star Chris Diamantopoulos. Their roles are still unknown.

'Red Notice' will also reunite Johnson with director Rawson Marshall Thurber, who also wrote the film. The two previously worked together in 'Skyscraper' and 'Central Intelligence.'
