Mr. Iglesias Season 2: Here's Everything We Know So Far

Wilson High School is a real high school of the same name in Long Beach, California, where Gabriel Iglesias really attended and graduated in 1994.

In school, we all were scared of some teachers and we all had favorites. Teachers we used to loathe were that kind who believed in sucking the fun out of everything and forced us to maintain silence and study all the time. To become such a teacher's favorite, students had to forget about everything in life, and surround themselves with books and make studying their only desired hobby, motto and habit. However, teachers who became students favorite were one of those who were friendly and taught students to enjoy other aspects of life apart from studying. Such teachers believed in making learning time a fun time for their students, without putting any sort of pressure on them. A Netflix sitcom, 'Mr Iglesias' revolves around one such teacher, Gabriel Iglesias who is a History teacher who returns to his old school to induce new methods to teach the kids.

Jacque Edmonds (‘Moesha’, ‘All About the Andersons’), Jenna Hensel (‘Sherman’s Showcase’, ‘All That’) and Chris Arrington (‘Disjointed’, ‘School of Rock’) serve as producers. D.J Ryan (‘Atypical’, ‘Last Man Standing’, ‘Malibu Country’) is credited for the writing. Fans now want to know about the renewal of 'Mr Iglesias', and here is everything we know about it.

What Is The Plot All About?

The show is like a breath of fresh air as it features a juxtaposition of funny and serious messages to society. It is about Iglesias character, Gabe, who is a high school teacher, who sees a class of smart but misfit kids being treated arrogantly and bullied by the assistant principal, Office alum Oscar Nunez. According to Entertainment Weekly, Iglesias for real dedicated the series to his former teacher of his own, who ends the episode with thanks for "believing in me when I didn't want to believe in myself."

Mr. Iglesias also encourages and advocates for his student. "It was important to me that the show be funny but also have substance," Iglesias told EW. "My producer Kevin Hench told me in the beginning, 'I really want this show to have Corazon [Spanish for 'heart'].' We didn't want this to be a wacky show, but for it to also have feelings."
