Jeremy Renner Confirms Hailee Steinfeld In Marvel's Hawkeye Series Through Adorable Photo

Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld were spotted on the set of the Hawkeye Marvel Disney Plus series in New York.

Rumors have been going around regarding actress Hailee Steinfeld's participation in Marvel's upcoming Hawkeye series.

The 23-year-old actress is rumored to star as Kate Bishop alongside Jeremy Renner on the Disney Plus series. The rumors have been spreading since last year. However, for some reason, there were no official announcements made, leaving fans always on the lookout for confirmations.

On Wednesday, the two were spotted on the set of the Hawkeye Marvel Disney Plus series in New York, igniting the firey rumors even more.

Fortunately, Jeremy Renner seems to have ended all the rumors by posting a photo that confirms the fans' suspicions all along.

The actor shared a photo of him, alongside Steinfeld and an adorable dog believed to be Lucky the Pizza Dog.

The two are wearing the same clothing as the photos that circulated the web. Steinfeld was in a dark plaid coat and shredded jeans, while Renner sports a brown jacket and dark pants.

"SQUIRREL!!! Nearly fell over this amazing dog today, and most certainly fell for her today," Renner captioned the photo.

The resemblance between the dog in the photo and the comics is so uncanny it looks like the furry friend stepped right out of the comic books.

Lucky the Pizza Dog is originally Clint Barton's (Hawkeye's alter ego) dog and has been featured in the Marvel comic books since 2012. He was first named Arrow and is owned by a member of the mafia. Barton saved Arrow from being beaten by gangsters and renamed him Lucky.

Hawkeye is one of several Marvel spin-off series percolating at Disney plus. The series is due for release late next year or early 2022.

The plot of the upcoming series will reportedly revolve around Kate taking on the mantle of the superhero, presumably after being trained by Hawkeye himself.

Marvel's website describes Bishop's character as strong-willed with excellent marksmanship.

"Like Clint Barton with whom she shares a moniker, the strong-willed Kate Bishop is a masterful archer who uses her excellent marksmanship to fight against evil," Marvel wrote on their website.

Kate further hones her skills under the guidance of her mentor, Clint Barton.

Kate Bishop is inspired to take on the moniker Hawkeye after the purported death of Clint Barton, who she considers her hero.

Kate held Barton in high-regard, particularly for his lack of superpowers.

Renner first made a quick appearance as Hawkeye in the 2011 movie Thor and returned in 2012, after landing a more prominent role in the first Avengers film.

He continued to portray the character and appeared in 2019's Avengers: Endgame, the highest-grossing film of all time.
