'Invisible City' Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

'Invisible City' Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

The journey is not over yet.

Netflix's Brazilian fantasy series 'Invisible City' is one of Netflix's recent most successful foreign installments that managed to enter the top 10 in many territories.

The series was the most popular TV show on Netflix in Brazil and ranked top 10 in New Zealand, France, and Spain on February 13, 2021. It follows Eric, an environmental police officer who discovers a secret world of mythological entities from Brazilian folklore while investigating the connection between the mysterious appearance of a dead pink river dolphin on a beach in Rio de Janeiro and the death of his wife.

The series created by Carlos Saldanha creatively mixed Brazilian folklore with an investigative approach ala X-Files.

After a highly successful first season and a cliff-hanging ending, can we expect more to follow? We have great news.

Is 'Invisible City' Renewed For Season 2?

Renewal status as of this writing: Renewed

Netflix has officially greenlit 'Invisible City' for season 2! The renewal came on March 2, 2021, less than a month since the series premiered on Netflix on February 5, 2021. Lead star Marco Pigossi confirmed the great news himself through a short video posted on Netflix Brazil's youtube account.

When Will 'Invisible City' Season 2 Release?

We are still waiting for Netflix to announce a release date for season 2. Now that the upcoming season is officially renewed, production is likely to begin anytime soon. The first season premiered on February 2021, so season 2 might follow the same pattern and release in the same month next year.

We will update this page once we have new information.

What Is The Possible Plot Of 'Invisible City' Season 2?

The first season ended with several questions that need to get answered. Luckily the show is renewed for season 2, so we will surely get the explanations we desire.

By the end of season 1, the world of deities opened up, allowing Eric to enter. Season 2 will likely take us to the supernatural realm and see what Eric will do to make it back to the world of the living. Is Eric still alive?

Can he still come back to the realm of the living?

The opening of the portal also indicates a much more complex mystery that will happen in season 2. Just when we thought that Eric is dead, he sees his dead wife, Gabriella, who tells him that his journey isn't over yet. The conversation seems to insinuate that people who get killed by the Dry Body end up in a different realm where their souls wander until they resolve unfinished business on Earth.
