The adult animated comedy TV series first announced in 2018 is finally coming very soon to Netflix.
An upcoming adult animated series from 20th Century Fox Television exclusively for Netflix is set to release next month.
Listed by Netflix as “Raunchy, Quirky” and “Witty”, Hoops tells the story of a determined and slightly frustrated high school basketball coach who has huge dreams for his team.
Here's everything you need to know about Hoops.
The animated TV series follows the story of a high-school basketball coach named Ben Hopkins who dreams to get to the big leagues. Unfortunately, Hopkins does not posses the basketball superstar skills. He often has a hard time demonstrating simple basketball tasks to his team such as shooting the ball to the basketball ring.
Hopkins must find a way to effectively teach his team how to play better if he wants to achieve his dream of making it to the big leagues.
Will Hopkins ever turn his team around and achieve his dream? Well, judging from the teaser trailer recently released by Netflix, Hopkins surely needs a miracle to get there.

The animated series is set to release on Netflix on Friday, 21st of August, 2020. What's even greater is all 10 episodes of Hoops will be available for streaming globally upon release.
There's no official trailer yet but Netflix dropped a teaser/announcement trailer containing the animated series' release date a couple of days ago.
The announcement trailer was released on July 21, 2020, and shows the frustrated coach hilariously failing to demonstrate to his team how to shoot a ball in the ring. He attempted numerous times and kept failing while his team patiently watched.

Jake Johnson will voice Ben Hopkins, the talentless basketball coach. His casting has been announced alongside the original show announcement in 2018.
Johnson's previous works include New Girl, BoJack Horseman, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse
Just recently, new cast members were announced to join the show. They are Comedy Central's Natasha Leggero, The Daily Show's Rob Riggle, Trolls' voice actor Ron Funches, Pineapple Express' Cleo King, and Wet Hot American Summer's A.D. Miles.
Hoops will be written by Ben Hoffman together with Annabel Seymour and Mike Gibbons. Hoffman previously worked on Archer as a writer and also starred in New Girl.
Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox Television is the producer behind other successful and long-running adult comedy series like Family Guy so our hopes are high for this.
On the other hand, Bento Box Entertainment, one of the production studios behind the series have already proved themselves with their previous works on Bob’s Burgers, Brickleberry, Bordertown, and Paradise PD.
