The live-action film remains in post-production as of this writing.
Emma Stone is playing the role of a young Estella "Cruella" de Vil.
Joining her is 'Late Night' star Emma Thompson as the Baroness, who possesses Cruella's special locket that was given to her by her mother.
Meanwhile, Yesterday's Joel Fry is playing Jasper, one of Cruella's henchmen, who will be tasked to kidnap the 101 dalmatians.
He will be assisted by Paul Walter Hauser's Horace in achieving the task.
Other cast members include Mark Strong as Boris, Emily Beecham as Anita, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Tabitha, and Jamie Demetriou as Gerald.
Behind the camera, we have Craig Gillespie as the director. Andrew Gunn, Kristin Burr, and Marc Platt are also on the crew list as producers.
Speaking about her chance to play the iconic character, Emma Stone told Vogue:
“Cruella is a fantastic character to get to play because she’s larger than life...It’s been a great experience to play around with her backstory and discover what makes her the woman she becomes in the story we’ve seen.”
The live-action film will feature a young Cruella during the 1970's London.
It will chronicle Estella de Vil's early years, up until the pivotal moment that turned her into a criminal.
According to Collider, the film will see Stone playing "a brilliant clothing designer" who nonetheless works as a lowly department store employee.
One day, the Baroness (Thompson) enters the store, wearing Cruella's special locket that was handed to her by her mother.
Cruella lost the necklace on the same night her mother passed away at the Baroness' estate. Cruella decides she'll do whatever it takes to get her locket back.
The film is expected to reveal the reason why Cruella became so obsessed with the Dalmatians.
The live-action film will be complete with crazy yet aesthetically pleasing costumes.
“The time period the film takes place in is the ’70s, so we‘ve had so much fun with the costumes, hair, and makeup to create her entire persona,” Emma said in the same interview with Vogue.
