'Beastars': Everything We Know About Netflix's New Upcoming Anime

The award-winning 'Beastars' manga series from Paru Itagaki is going to make its appearance for the first time as TV anime adaptation on Netflix Japan.

Netflix is all set to bring a new anime adaptation of Paru Itagaki's 'Beastars'. The streaming giant's experiment with different kind of anime adaptations is going stronger every day and 'Beastars' happens to be one of the most awaited ones. Netflix is believed to be expanding its anime licensing and distribution in 2019 and this adaptation happens to be one of the most surprising licenses for it. 'Beastars' is a CG animated series that shows a world of animals separated into predators and prey and centers on the calm and serene school life of a gentle wolf, however his life drastically changes when things change after a fellow student is mercilessly murdered.

Even though no official date has surfaced yet, but we know that the show is going to hit Netflix subscriber's screen in October, which is very soon. 

What Is The Storyline Of 'Beastars' All About?

The anime was created by Paru Itagaki for Akita Shonen's Weekly Shonen Champion in 2016, and so far has had 14 volumes. The series also has a license for an English language release by Viz Media, and the BEASTARS TV anime features animation production by Orange. Going with Viz Media's description, the story is described as, "Instead of Jocks and Nerds, the Students Are Divided into Predators and Prey. One night at Cherryton Academy, and herbivore student is brutally murdered. Among the members of the Drama Club, the herbivores’ suspicions naturally turn to their carnivore classmates… The prime suspect? Wolf Legoshi. But he wouldn’t hurt a fly. Or would he? Will dwarf rabbit Haru bring out the beast in him? Or are his feelings for her…something else?"

The anime adaptation is helmed by Shinichi Matsumi for Studio Orange, and the script is written by Nanami Higuchi (Little Witch Academia), whereas, the characters are designed by Nao Ootsu. The show's CG chief director is Eiji Inomoto (Ghost in the Shell Arise), Minami Kasuga is going to be the art director of the show, Ken Hashimoto is the color designer, Shiori Furusho is the director of the photography, Junichi Uematsu will be the editor and Satoru Kousaki is going to compose the music.
