A Quiet Place is officially coming and here's everything we know so far about it.
A Quiet Place became ranked among the best horrors ever made, grossing a cool $340 million in its box office run. Now, it has been confirmed that a second film is being created. CEO of Paramount Pictures, Jim Gianopulos, broke the news at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Wednesday, April 25 saying: "If you told me five years ago that an almost silent film starring the very funny guy Jim from The Office would have been a hit at Paramount, I would have said, 'Well, I should go work at Paramount'."
Here's everything we know so far about A Quiet Place 2.
A Quiet Place 2 is expected to hit theaters on March 20, 2020. Filming began on July 15th and in October 2018 it was announced that John Krasinki will be the director.
The plot of the movie can go in many different places. At first, it was thought that it would be a shared universe sequel that would follow a different family. This plot has yet to be denied with even Krasinki revealing that the second film may not focus on the same family. In an interview with Hollywood Reporter in December 2018 he said: "In our circumstance, the thing that the audience loved most was the world. That's the cool thing that you could explore on and on."
Emily Blunt then went on to say to Business Insider: "This isn't a sequel at all — this is the second book in a series of books. It's a widening of a world."
It has been confirmed that Emily Blunt will be returning to the sequel as Evelyn Abbott as well as Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds as Evelyn's children Marcus and Regan.
Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy will be joining the cast as "a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family unit".
Marvel star Djimon Hounsou is also expected to join the cast.
