A Quiet Place II is coming to cinemas soon. Here's everything we know about the upcoming sequel.
In a post-apocalyptic era, a family of four fights for their survival in a world full of bloodthirsty monsters who hunt prey with their hyper-sensitive hearing. John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place gave a breath of fresh air to cinema-goers in 2018 as the tense thriller delivered a masterpiece they had been looking for.
The movie was able to bag a whopping $340.9 million at the global box office, making its sequel an obvious subsequent. Here is everything there is to know about A Quiet Place II.
A Quiet Place II will hit cinemas later in September this year. Paramount had originally announced the movie to be released in March 2020; however, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this date has been shifted to later this autumn.
All of the Abbott family, except for dad (RIP), have returned for their roles in A Quiet Place II. With them, The Dark Knight’s Cillian Murphy has joined the crew, who plays the role of a good guy who will help Evelyn and her family escape the nasty aliens.
Moreover, Djimon Hounsou (Captain Marvel and Blood Diamond) is probably a friend of Cillian Murphy, as from the teaser. However, what his role is in the movie is unclear.
The teaser of A quiet Place II came out on Christmas last year, followed by its full-length trailer on New Year’s. You can watch A Quiet Place’s sequel’s trailer here.
The opening clip shows a happier time, before all the aliens invaded, then quickly jumps forward to when the original movie ended.
Later, the Abbotts set off an alarm accidentally that alerts one of the aliens to their refuge. However, as a stroke of luck, Evelyn is saved by one of the survivors whom she later convinces to help her escape the monsters and look for others like them.
Another trailer, released in January this year, shows a little bit of John Krasinski from a flashback scene. We're not crying; you're crying!
A Quiet Place left off with Evelyn and the kids at home fighting an alien, figuring out how to use dad's inventions to ward off the bloodthirsty monsters. A Quiet Place II picks up from where its predecessor left off and shows Evelyn and the kids traveling across the country to find safety and salvation. Cillian Murphy, however, warns Evelyn that the rule of law has collapsed and that not everyone will be willing to help them.
Could this mean that Evelyn will be fighting more than just bloodthirsty aliens in the sequel? Will Evelyn and her family find safety and a possible way to kill the monsters in the post-apocalyptic thriller? We would have to wait till September to find out the answers!
