Fans across the globe are eager to know whether Katherine Langford will be returning in the third installment. And, we just found something...
The most talked about American teen drama web series, '13 Reasons Why’ is coming back for the third season, and fans clearly can't contain their excitement. The first season premiered on March 31, 2017, leaving viewers startled and traumatized for the real yet sensitive content of the show. Soon, the first season became the most watched, most talked about and most interesting show on the platform. The show is based on the novel, which goes by the same name, by Jay Asher that was launched in 2007.
Soon the book was picked up by Brian Yorkey and was adapted for a show to be featured on Netflix. The show is backed by July Moon Productions, Kicked to the Curb Productions, Anonymous Content, and Paramount Television. The show is produced by Joseph Incaprera and its executive producers are Brian Yorkey, Diana Son, Tom McCarthy, Joy Gorman Wettels, Steve Golin, Michael Sugar, Selena Gomez, Mandy Teefey, and Kristel Laiblin.
The show has engrossed many viewers for its content, as the series shows a recounting of the events that led to the suicide of a high school girl, Hannah Baker, as she leaves tapes where she has recorded hints, truths and everything that forced her to commit suicide. The tapes are in the hands of Clay who hears it and who eventually falls in love with her. Of course, the show also became a part of many controversies, with some praising the show and some criticizing it. However, the show is one of the best shows that showcases the harsh and dark reality of bullying culture, disturbing politics in high school that has the power to affect someone to that extent where they prefer ending their lives given the unbearable pain they go through. Now, this ultimate show is coming soon with the third installment, and here is everything we know about it.
The good news is that the cast is on the verge of wrapping up the season 3 of '13 Reasons Why'. This was confirmed by Dylan Minnette himself, who couldn't keep his excitement contained, as he recently tweeted that the cast just got the scripts for the final 3 episodes, and he revealed that the third installment will be having some of the best episodes. "I know I never really tweet about 13 reasons why but I gotta say some of these last few scripts of season 3 are the show’s best. alright, that’s all," he wrote.

And, looks like the shooting of season 3 might have ended on February 6, 2019, as the official Twitter account of the show shared pictures of the set with fans.
Before we guess the release of the third season, let's look at the pattern of former season's release times and dates. Season 1 winded up its production in January 2017 and released the first season on March 31, 2017. After then, season two finished its production in December 2017 but released sometime on May 18, 2018. We know for a fact that the third part of the show finished shooting sometime in February this year, so we can expect it to come sometime later this Summer.
According to Netflix CCO Ted Sarandos, the third season of 13 Reasons Why will be released in the third quarter (July, August or September) pic.twitter.com/jlwiW1if5E— Selena Gomez News (@WorldwideSelG) May 27, 2019
Going with what was revealed by a fan account on Twitter, called CCO of Netflix, Ted Sarandos revealed that Season 3 will arrive in the third quarter of this year. Even though we cannot consider this as a credible source to judge the authenticity of the release date, we can also expect it to come sometime in October 2019. The third season will also be having 13 episodes just like former seasons.
Fans are dying to know whether Katherine Langford will be returning for the third season or not. Even though nothing has been announced regarding her return, the star did state in an Instagram post that season 2 was goodbye to the Hannah Baker character, which kind of hinted that she might not make a comeback.
As far as rest of the cast is concerned, those who will be there in the third season include, Clay Jensen, played by Dylann Minnette, Tony Padilla, played by Christian Navarro, Jessica Davis, played by Alisha Boe, Alex Standall, played Miles Heizer, Bryce Walker, played by Justin Prentice, Justin Foley, played by Brandon Flynn, Zach Dempsey, played by Ross Butler, Tyler Down, played by Devin Druid, Montgomery de la Cruz, played by Timothy Granaderos, Nora Walker, played by Brenda Strong.
Season 2 left pretty much a lot for the third season to cover. The third installment will definitely focus on the fallout of Tyler's attempted shooting of the school. Tyler wanting to shoot up the school triggered from his sexual assault from Montgomery and his friends. The third season will also show Justin, who is now living with Clay and his heroin addiction, because of which his bond with Clay and girlfriend Jessica gets affected.
The third season will also show Chloe's story after she helped clear Bryce's name, as she was also raped by him and is now pregnant with his child. Season 3 will show whether Chloe will keep the child, or take a stand against Bryce. “Abortion should be a topic. I don't know if she should do it or not, I'm going to leave that up to the writers. But I think that it should definitely be discussed,” Winters told The Hollywood Reporter.
The fact that all the evidence of rapes and sexual assaults were destroyed by Nina Jones has left fans confused as she herself was a victim. Season 3 will show how hard proving the sexual assaults of all victims have become after Nina destroyed the only hope. The third season might also have school shooting as a topic.
