The rumors about 'Fast & Furious 9' heading to space was recently confirmed by Michelle Rodriguez....unless she was being sarcastic. I guess there is only one way to find out.
'Fast & Furious' is heading to space! Whoomp, There It Is!!
This means that it's really only a matter of time now before Dom and his team faces off against the Decepticons.
The news came from star Michelle Rodriguez during an interview with SiriusXM on Thursday, September 10.
The hosts Jess Cagle and Julia Cunningham asked Rodriguez about the rumors about the team heading to space in 'Fast 9.'
She responded: "How did you guys find that out? See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man."
Rodriguez continued, as per Complex. "When a movie doesn't come out and forget about it, things get out. Nobody was supposed to know that!"
Was Rodriguez sarcastic in her response? Maybe, maybe not. It could be a subtle hint to the fact as there have already been so many rumors of the film going to space.
Earlier this year, Ludacris also hinted at the possibility of the film going into space, but he was a lot less direct. During an interview, also with Cagle and Cunningham, Ludacris was asked about the team's journey to space.
"I don't know, I don't know what you said," Ludacris said. "Listen, as long as the stakes were set up correctly, then I'm down for whatever."
Filming for 'Fast & Furious 9' began more than a year ago now. So filming should be done by now. However, we still have to wait until April 2, 2021, to see it as the Coronavirus pandemic has caused major delays.
Ludacris and Michelle Rodriguez will both be returning for 'Fast & Furious 9' along with Vin Diesel, Tyrese Gibson, and Jordana Brewster. Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, who recently starred in the spin-off 'Hobbs & Shaw' will not be returning for the ninth film.
'Fast & Furious 9' is set to hit theaters April 2, 2021.
