When is Emily in Paris Season 4 Releasing?

The show's official Instagram handle made the huge reveal just three weeks after the world received the second set of episodes for Emily in Paris, via a montage of popular scenes from the two seasons. 

"Say ‘bonjour’ to 3 & 4!" the show's account captioned the video. "💋 EMILY IS OFFICIALLY RETURNING FOR TWO MORE SEASONS!"

Soon, Lily Collins shared on her personal Instagram, "Woke up early to give you some VERY exciting news … @emilyinparis is back for Season 3 … AND wait for it, Season 4!!!!!" she wrote on January 10. "I can’t tell if Emily would love or hate this announcement outfit but she’d be screaming either way. Truly love you all, thanks so much for the incredible support. Seriously cannot wait for more. Merci Beaucoup!!"

However, there is no release date as of now. However, Netflix recently stated that filming for season 4 is set to begin on January 15, 2024 in both Italy and Paris.

According to Variety, the conclusion of the strikes involving actors and writers has led to a surge in activity among studios, including Netflix. This is particularly pressing as the upcoming 2024 Olympic Games in Paris impose a tight schedule. From June to September, filming and production in Paris will be halted due to the Olympics.

The popular series "Emily in Paris" has previously filmed its last three seasons during summer at the Cité du Cinema studios. However, these studios are now reserved for the Olympic Games, necessitating a change in location for the series. "Emily in Paris" will move its production to a different studio nearby, while continuing to shoot exterior scenes in various parts of Paris.

A key line producer, experienced in managing major U.S. film projects in Paris, shared insights with Variety in September. The producer emphasized the competitive nature of securing filming locations in Paris, describing it as a "rat race." With the high demand, most desirable locations are already fully booked. This situation underscores the challenges faced by production teams in navigating the busy filming landscape in Paris, especially in light of the forthcoming Olympic Games.

What Can We Expect from Emily in Paris Season 4?

The love square shall remain! The aftermath of the messy and unsuccessful wedding ceremony is yet to be witnessed. Showrunner Darren Star said in an interview with PEOPLE, "It was something that I was always thinking about from the beginning of this season," he told the outlet in December. "So we worked backward a little bit. I [was] sort of withholding that information from the audience until the very end. I think you go back, and you kind of make sense of a lot of what happened before." Expect to see more work-life hurdles that she will need to solve and a conclusion to her love life.
