The best part is that the house looks much like it did in the 1990 holiday film starring a young Macaulay Culkin.
Macaulay Culkin's character Kevin McCallister spent quite some time warding off intruders in his vacant family home back in 1990 for the film Home Alone. The movie became an instant hit and is considered a holiday classic. Now decades later, fans of the film can actually spend a night in the Home Alone house. Airbnb is renting out the house this month for one night in the Chicago suburb of Winnetka, Illinois.

The Airbnb listing is written from the perspective of Kevin's older brother Buzz McCallister. The pugnacious Buzz has apparently since mellowed down and is ready to allow guests into his childhood home, per Airbnb. The fictional character writes in the description: Though we're older and wiser now (I've even got my own security firm), we're never too old for holiday hijinks. So while we're away on vacation (all of us, this time), I'm inviting one crew of mischief makers to let their inner eight-year-olds run free in my childhood home on December 12.

Kevin adds that "when you're ready to wind down, you can enjoy a viewing of the film franchise's newest holiday adventure, Home Sweet Home Alone, on Disney+." He also points out that "a member of my McCallister Security team will ensure a comfortable stay for you and your family, including showing you around, arranging meals, and gifting you with a LEGO Ideas Home Alone set to take and build at home. Those looking to book should note that this stay's rules require strict adherence with local COVID-19 guidelines."

filthy animals can request to book on december 7 at 1pm CT. https://t.co/HcTybz2Dd8 pic.twitter.com/JSm59Jeo1C
It's likely to get extremely competitive to book the place. Booking opens on December 7 at 2 p.m. ET, but the space will only be available for one night the following week. What residents can expect includes a fully-decorated house and Christmas tree along with plenty of junk food to snack on, including "Chicago's finest pizza and a candlelit dinner of microwavable Kraft Macaroni & Cheese." You also get to don a lush green robe to wear while throwing on Mr. McCallister's aftershave. And what's a Home Alone house without booby traps? You get to place these in case of intruders! Buzz's pet tarantula that terrified the Wet Bandits will be there, too, according to Airbnb's description, because what's Christmas without an arachnid? The best part of the whole deal is that it costs just $25!
Also, Airbnb is making a donation to La Rabida Children's Hospital, which cares for local patients in the Chicago area and is dedicated to improving and sustaining the lives of patients with chronic illnesses, disabilities, and complex conditions. So book soon!
Potential guests can request to book the McCallisters' home starting Tuesday, December 7 at 2 p.m. ET here.
