Home Alone has become a staple holiday film for all those who have been watching it since they were kids in the '90s. The film followed Kevin McCallister, a boy who defends his Chicago home from burglars who decide to rob it after his family accidentally leaves him behind on their Christmas vacation to Paris. 

The film was directed by Chris Columbus and written and produced by John Hughes. This film was followed by three sequels, with the original cast only appearing in the second installment, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

The first film came out in 1990 and it has been 31 years since it was released. The cast of the movie are now all three decades older and here's where they are now:

1. Macaulay Culkin

He played the lead role, protagonist Kevin. He was 10 years old at the time of the release of the film. He is now 41 years old and hosts a podcast called Bunny Ears.

After a hiatus from acting, he is now back and starred as Mickey in the tenth season of American Horror Story, titled American Horror Story: Double Feature. He is currently in a relationship with The Suite Life of Zack & Cody's Brenda Song. They had their first child earlier this year.

2. Catherine O’Hara

O'Hara played the role of Kevin's mother, Kate who goes through hell and back to be able to reach her son who was left behind at home. She is now 67 years old and has made waves as Moira Rose in Schitt's Creek.

Speaking to InStyle she said, “I ran into Macaulay once, and he said, ‘Mom!’ and I said, ‘Baby!’ He looked great and was doing well, and I was happy to see him.”

3. Joe Pesci

Pesci played Harry Lime, one of the burglars who decides to rob rich homes during Christmas time. He is no stranger to the life of crime and has previously tough characters and is well known for his collaborations with Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese in the films Raging Bull (1980), Goodfellas (1990), Casino (1995), and The Irishman (2019). He is now 78 years old. Pesci has retired from acting to pursue his musical passions.

4. Daniel Stern

Stern played Marv Merchants in the film. He is best known for this role as well as for being the voice of adult Kevin Arnold on the television series The Wonder Years and the voice of Dilbert on the animated series of the same name. He is now 64 years old and in addition to acting has pursued a career as an artist — specializing in bronze sculpture, as a screenwriter and made his feature-film directorial debut with Rookie of the Year (1993).

5. John Heard

Heard played the role of Kevin's dad, Peter. He has been credited with acting in over 200 on-stage and screen projects. His work includes Big (1988), The Pelican Brief (1993), White Chicks (2004), and TV shows, The Client, Prison Break, and The Sopranos.

He passed away in 2017 from sudden cardiac arrest at the age of 71.

6. Kieran Culkin

Kieran is Macaulay Culkin's real-life younger brother who played his annoying cousin Fuller. He has since starred in the Father of the Bride franchise, She’s All That, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and is now making waves in his role as Roman Roy on Succession.

He is 39 years old and is married to Jazz Charton with whom he has two children.

7. Devin Ratray

Ratray played Kevin's bully elder brother, Buzz. As a child actor, he has landed roles in Little Monsters and Dennis the Menace. He has also acted in the films Nebraska (2013) and Blue Ruin (2013). 

Recently, the former child star has been accused of punching a woman and attempting to strangle her in an altercation, as per PEOPLE. He has denied accusations stating that the two got did have a verbal argument but denied that things got physical.

8. John Candy

Candy played the role of the Polka King of the Midwest, Gus Polinski. He comes to the rescue at a crucial moment and offers Kate a free ride with his bandmates to go to her son when there is trouble at the airport.

He passed away in 1994 after a heart attack. He was only 43 years old at the time. During his acting career, he was part of mostly comedies including Uncle Buck (1989), Spaceballs (1987), and Planes, Trains and Automobiles
