Wellmania is Netflix's newest comedy-drama from Australia and was able to get quite the fan base in a short space of time. Are we going to get a new season anytime soon. Let's explore. This is a live article and will be updated as new information is released.
Wellmania is Netflix's latest comedy-drama from Australia. The show is based on the book written by the show's creator, Brigid Delaney. The book is entitled Wellmania: Misadventures in the Search for Wellness. It follows food critic and human tornado Liv, who gets trapped in Australia after being diagnosed with "catastrophic health." Her dream job in New York gets jeopardized, and she throws herself body-first into a radical wellness journey to return home. Now that season 1 is over can we expect a second one? Let's explore.
Wellmania has yet to be renewed for a second season as of this writing. But there are positive signs pointing towards a renewal. The first is that the show broke into the top-ten lists of many countries, including the US, UK, and Australia. This a good enough sign, but Netflix still has to do a full review of viewing statistics before making a decision. We will update this article as new information is released.
The second season ends with Lorraine suddenly getting hit by a van. It happens as Lorraine is getting rid of Liv's things in Sydney. The show ends with Gaz and Dalbert at the hospital trying to call Liv, but Liv misses the call while she's caught up in her cooking show, leaving her unaware of her mother's fate.
If there is a second season, it will most certainly address the fate of Lorraine after the crash. Did she survive? It will also address Liv's response to her mother's accident. She will have to decide between her career and her family, which could see her return to Australia.
The show wouldn't be complete if Celeste Barber would not reprise her role as Liv Healy. Other members of the cast that are expected to return are:
JJ Fong as Amy Kwan
Lachlan Buchanan as Gaz Healy
Genevive Mooy as Lorraine Healy
Virginie Laverdure as Valerie Jones
Johnny Carr as Doug Henderson
Remy Hii as Dalbert Tan
Alexander Hidge as Isaac Huang
Leah Vanderburg as Dr. Priyanka Singh
