Britney Spears’s Massive Child Support Payments To Ex-Kevin Federline Ends As Their Youngest Child Turns 18

After their youngest kid turned 18 (September 12), Britney Spears is reportedly going to stop paying child support to her ex-husband Kevin Federline.

The singer and Federline were married in 2004 and have two sons together, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Citing ‘irreconcilable disagreements’ at the time, Spears filed for divorce from the choreographer in 2006, according to PEOPLE.

Federline was awarded full custody of their children in 2006 after a custody dispute, while Spears was given conservatorship; the ‘Gimme More’ singer was given increased visitation rights in 2008.

According to E! News, their custody agreement was revised in 2019 to give Spears 30% of the rights to unsupervised custodial time.

Jayden James turned 18 on September 12, which means that his mother will no longer be paying him child support, according to The Daily Mail.

September 14 of last year was Sean Preston’s 18th birthday.

A source claimed that the pop star has paid a ‘extraordinary’ amount towards the care of her children – which has been estimated to have been more than $5 million dollars over 17 years.

The source claimed to the publication: “The amount of money Britney has given Kevin for the two boys is extraordinary and it is enough for any man to support an entire family, which is what she believes he has done.”

They continued to say: “Britney is hearing that he is not a happy camper, while Britney is living her best life.”

It was also alleged further that Britney won’t be spending the day with her son – which the source claimed the Crossroads star is disappointed about – as he currently lives in Hawaii with his father and his third wife, Victoria Price, and is expected to be ‘celebrating with his friends’.

However, they further claimed that she is allegedly going to get him a gift that ‘is more expensive than anything his father could afford’.

After her conservatorship ended in 2021 and her father, Jamie Spears, took control of her life and finances—a move Federline had earlier said “saved her life”—he opened up about his son’s relationship with their mother.

Sean Preston and Jayden James had made the decision not to visit their mother, Federline said in 2022 to ITV, adding, “The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now.”

He described the situation as ‘tough’ and ‘the most challenging thing I’ve ever had to do in my life’.

Spears issued a response to her ex-husband’s comments on Instagram, writing that it ‘sadden’ her to hear him talk about her relationship with her sons, adding: “As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone … it concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram … I gave them everything … Only one word: HURTFUL … I’ll say it … My mother told me “You should GIVE them to their dad” … I’m sharing this because I can … Have a good day folks !!!”
