This is a live-update article and it will be updated as new details about Wakfu Season 4 come our way. This is what we know so far.
Although the US and Japan are known for dominating the animation industry, there is a hidden treasure from France that you simply can't afford to miss - "Wakfu." This French animation series, which originated from the popular video game "Dofus," has been captivating audiences since its debut in 2008. The sequel game, also called "Wakfu," was released in 2012 and is currently available for free on Steam.
At the center of "Wakfu" is Yugo, a young hero with unusual powers and a mysterious past. He embarks on a quest to uncover his history, which leads him to encounter various malevolent forces who desire his abilities, known as Wakfu. Yugo, together with the Brotherhood of Tofu, faces numerous adversaries, and their journey continues in Season 4.
Here's the scoop: "Wakfu: Season 4" is definitely on its way. Ankama Animations confirmed its development on May 7, 2020, and a successful Kickstarter campaign followed. The downside? We're still waiting for an official release date. The series director, known as "ToT," hinted at a production wrap in November 2023. This timeline suggests a 2024 release.

In a revealing interview, ToT shared key insights about Season 4. Breaking from the norm, this season won't feature a timeskip, picking up right where the last left off. Expect a brand-new villain, steering clear of Nox and Qilby from previous seasons. Intriguingly, Season 4 aims to bridge the "Wakfu" game with its sequel, "Waven." ToT even teased a potentially happy yet emotional series finale.
The creation of "Wakfu" has always been a collaboration between Ankama Animations and France 3, dating back to Season 1. With Ankama leading the announcement for Season 4, they're likely at the helm again. Ankama, known for their diverse entertainment portfolio, including the "Dofus" and "Wakfu" games, is now working on "Waven." Meanwhile, France 3, a major producer and TV channel, has been involved in projects like "Law And Order" and "Inglourious Basterds."
