Verdict Finally Reached In Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard Case

A verdict in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case has been reached and the internet rejoices!

Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard verdict

After a six-week trial and a 3-day jury deliberation period, a verdict has finally been reached.

Johnny Depp has been awarded $15 million in damages from Amber Heard while Heard has been awarded $2 million from Depp.

It took the jurors three days to come to a verdict and at the last minute, they had forgotten to fill out damages. Judge Penney Azcarate then sent the jurors back to the deliberation room to finish filling out the form which involved putting in damages. She said the damages must be "at least $1 and up to whatever you feel the damages should be."

Johnny Depp won on all counts and wasn't even in the courtroom. He was reportedly playing concerts with Jeff Beck in Europe.

Amber Heard was present in the courtroom and reportedly criticized Depp for not showing up. A spokesperson for Heard said:

"Your presence shows where your priorities are. Johnny Depp plays guitar in the UK while Amber Heard waits for a verdict in Virginia. Depp is taking his snickering and lack of seriousness on tour."

This case all started back in 2019 when Depp sued Heard for $50 million, alleging that the op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018 was defamatory. Heard then filed a counter-claim for $100 million against Depp, alleging she was abused by Depp.
