After an unfortunate cancellation by Netflix following its first season, *Uncoupled* found a new home with Showtime. This move brought a glimmer of hope to fans who were left hanging after the cliffhanger ending of the debut season. The series, created by Darren Star, gained popularity for its witty writing and relatable characters. Yet, as excitement built around the upcoming season, the writer's strike cast a shadow of uncertainty over the show's production timeline.
During a recent appearance on "The View", Neil Patrick Harris, who portrays the protagonist Michael Lawson, shared the disappointing news with fans. He disclosed that the filming for the second season of "Uncoupled" was originally slated to begin in early July. However, the ongoing writer's strike has forced the production to come to a halt. Harris voiced his support for the writers and their cause, stating, “So, everything is sort of on pause – go writers, writers strong.”
While Harris did not provide a specific timeline for when production would resume, he expressed optimism that the writers strike would be resolved in due time. He remarked, “We’re just going to wait until that [writers strike] plays itself out.” This sentiment resonates with many in the entertainment industry who are hoping for a swift resolution to the ongoing labor dispute. The delay, while disappointing, has also provided a silver lining for the cast and crew, who are eager to shoot the upcoming season in more favorable weather conditions.

With the filming of Uncoupled Season 2 on halt it's hard to say when the new season will release. There will be more clarity once the writer's strike is over. Right now our best guess is late 2024.
Uncoupled centers around the life of Neil Patrick Harris's character Michael who is now single after getting out of a long-term relationship. In the first episode, we saw Colin tell Micheal about his decision while I Will Always Love You by Whitney Houston plays in the background. The story will sometimes feel lighthearted and pretty deep at other points in the show. In the climax of the first season, we see that Colin may not have completely exited his life. After all, leaving someone after 17 years of togetherness cannot be that easy, right?
The cliffhanger with Colin having second thoughts about Michael. Following their sweet reunion at the Jonathans' wedding, Colin went to Michael's apartment to see if he was willing to give their relationship a second shot. So we can expect to find out what may happen between the two love birds; thing is, we saw Michael finally finding his feet on his own. Will he want to go back to what made him suffer like this, or is it just a little too late for that now... We'll have to wait it out...
Here's the list of cast members who are hopefully going to reprise their roles. Tuc Watkins, and Neil Patrick Harris will surely be back. Emerson Brooks and Brooks Ashmanskas will also reprise their roles as Billy and Stanley. We can also expect to see Tisha Campbell as Suzanne all over again. Marcia Gay Harden should also return to play her character Claire. We might also be introduced to new characters, given the show is renewed.
