The iconic Hanna-Barbera Production series debuted on September 23, 1962, on ABC portraying a hilarious image of the future in 100 years’ time. The patriarch George Jetson is the husband of Jane, the father of teenage daughter Judy and elementary school-aged son Elroy, and the owner of a dog named Astro. The family lived in the Skypad Apartments in Orbit City in 2062 with robot servants, flying saucer-like cars, and moving sidewalks. As Earth had become too polluted, everyone lived in the sky in apartment buildings set on giant poles.
In the first season of the Jetsons, George Jetson says he is 40 years old. In another episode, his wife Jane says she is "only 33." Their eldest daughter, Judy, is stated to be 15, then turns 16. This means George and Jane had a baby when he was 25 and she was 18. pic.twitter.com/OfBuMRwS16

The show's plotline was comical and had a silly charm to it and it “stands as the single most important piece of 20th century futurism,” according to Smithsonian magazine. “We still speak about the future in Jetsons terms,” Jared Bahir Browsh, author of the 2021 book Hanna-Barbera: A History, explained.

Though no specific birthdate for George Jetson was ever seemingly revealed, MeTV has said that promotional materials and articles at the time of its premiere set the Jetsons 100 years into the future, placing the show’s setting in 2062. In the season's fifteenth episode, titled Test Pilot, George has an existential crisis after he thinks he is dying and decides to become a test pilot for a supposedly indestructible suit. During the episode, George goes to the doctor, who claims that he should "live to be 150." Sometime later, after risking his life in a series of daredevil stunts, George tells his boss, Mr. Spacely, "I've got 110 good years ahead of me," placing him at 40 years old. So, it sounds like 2022 would be the correct birth year for George Jetson.
Fans on Twitter went wild with memes and humorous reactions to the news. "FINALLY The Jetsons are catching up to reality!!! WHERE'S MY FLYING CAR?!?!?!?!" one Twitter user wrote in response to Kergin's tweet.

I don’t have anything to push, so maybe go donate to an SPCA for Betty White’s sake or something?

If there was ever a series that needs a reboot its #TheJetsons. We know there are plenty of people who have wanted a live action film/tv series of this classic for a while. Brad Bird would definitely be a great choice to direct. Also, Happy Birthday #GeorgeJetson! https://t.co/4eGBpTUxDO
