These Movie Soundtracks Are Actually So Beautiful They Deserve All The Love

These films made the right choice when they decided to use these songs.

Begin Again

Music is one of the best ways to express emotions. That is why it is very important for movies to pick the right soundtracks that will compliment the mood and the overall theme of the film. Music and vision combined is the best way to carry the audience away into a different world. So in this list, we will dive into some of the greatest movie soundtracks ever created.

1. Lost Stars (Begin Again)

Lost Stars was performed by Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine for the 2014 romantic comedy-drama film 'Begin Again.' It was written and produced by Gregg Alexander, Danielle Brisebois, Nick Lashley, and Nick Southwood. The song and the composition are so poignant it evokes a lot of emotions. It tells the story of a lost and lonely soul trying to find meaning and make sense of life.

The lyrics are so well written it will make you feel nostalgic about something you can't even pinpoint.

So let's get drunk on our tears
And, God, tell us the reason
Youth is wasted on the young
It's hunting season and the lambs are on the run
Searching for meaning
But are we all lost stars Trying to light up the dark?

2. Happy (Despicable Me 2)

This positive and uplifting song was written, produced, and performed by Pharrell Williams for the 2013 animated sequel 'Despicable Me' 2. The song is very lighthearted with a cheerful beat and exuberant vocal. It encourages people to cultivate a positive attitude no matter what life throws at them.

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
(Because I'm happy)
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

3. Shallow (A Star Is Born)

Lady Gaga delivered a very raw and emotional performance of this song together with Bradley Cooper for the film 2018 film 'A Star Is Born.' The lyrics have Gaga and Cooper's characters asking each other if they are satisfied with their lives. They tell their personal struggles and their attempt to cope and hide away from the pain.

I'm off the deep end, watch as I dive in
I'll never meet the ground
Crash through the surface, where they can't hurt us
We're far from the shallow now

4. My Heart Will Go On (Titanic)

The official soundtrack to Jack and Rose's tragic love story is performed by Celine Dion. 'My Heart Will Go On' serves as a reminder that love transcends distances and spaces. In the film, Jack dies during the sinking of the Titanic, leaving an even greater distance between them forever. The song says that it doesn't matter where they are, she will continue to love and keep him in her heart.

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on

5. Let It Go (Frozen)

'Let It Go' is among the most popular songs for Disney animated movies. The song was performed with belty gusto by Idina Menzel. The song is a tale of a powerful girl finally letting go of her fear and shame. 'Let It Go' became a popular theme in children's events and parties. Both children and adults loved the rhythm and the message that the song brings.

Let it go, let it go
When I'll rise like the break of dawn
Let it go, let it go
That perfect girl is gone
Here I stand in the light of day
Let the storm rage on
The cold never bothered me anyway

6. Way Back Into Love (Music and Lyrics)

Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore performed this song for the 2007 film 'Music and Lyrics.' In the film, the two composed the song for a young megastar. In reality, the song was written by  Adam Schlesinger. The lyrics of the song tell the story of two people who have been through several heartaches but found their way back into love again.

All I wanna do is find a way back into love,
I can't make it through without a way back into love,
And if I open my heart to you,
I'm hoping you'll show me what to do,
And if you help me to start again,
You know that I'll be there for you in the end!

7. Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door (Pat Garrett And Billy The Kid)

Before it was performed by hard rock band Guns N' Roses in 1987, Knockin’ On Heaven’s Door was the soundtrack of a very emotional scene in the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. The song only had two short verses, the lyrics of which depict the scene in the film when frontier lawman (Slim Pickens) dies. The lyrics were addressed to his wife Katy Jurado, who he refers to as "Mama."

Mama take this badge from me
I can't use it anymore
It's getting dark too dark to see
Feels like I'm knockin' on heaven's door

8. Just Like Fire (Alice Through the Looking Glass)

Pink recorded this song for the 2016 film 'Alice Through the Looking Glass.' This is the first time that the singer has written an original song for a live-action feature film. She said that her daughter was her inspiration behind the track. The lyrics talk about the singer's determination to live out her dreams and remain authentic, free from the control of other people.

Just like fire, burning out the way
If I can light the world up for just one day
Watch this madness, colorful charade
No one can be just like me any way

9. All Star (Shrek)

Whenever the first line of this song plays, listeners always get transported back to the time when things are simpler and more fun. The song was performed and released by the rock band Smash Mouth in 1999 and became the anthem of the first 'Shrek' film in 2001. The beat and the tone of the song are very catchy, and the lyrics are very well written. The song itself has a life of its own and won't leave your mind for a long time.

Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead

10. 'Pray for Me' (Black Panther)

This upbeat song is performed by the Weeknd and American rapper Kendrick Lamar for 'Black Panther.' Despite its punchy tone, the lyrics are actually poignant. The lyrics even hurt more knowing that Chadwick Boseman passed away just a few years after 'Black Panther' released.

'Cause I'm alone, you see (I'm alone, you see)
If I'm gon' die for you (if I'm gon' die for you )
If I'm gon' kill for you (if I'm gon' kill for you)
Then I'll spill this blood for you, hey
