Now You Can Watch 'The Shining' And Stay At The Same Hotel

From December 1, fans of horror will be able to step inside the rooms that saw a crazed Jack Torrence scaring the daylights out of his wife Wendy and their son Danny while being affected by creepy premonitions.

Good news for all the horror fans in the house! Fans of 'The Shining' can now rent and stay at the actual hotel where the terrifying movie was filmed in. The National Timberline Lodge in Government Camp, Oregon, was used as The Overlook Hotel in director Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of the Stephen King's book. From December 1, fans of horror will be able to step inside the rooms that saw a crazed Jack Torrence scaring the daylights out of his wife Wendy and their son Danny while being affected by creepy premonitions.

This event is put together by On Set Cinema, they said in a statement, "The Timberline Lodge sits high on the shoulder of one of the most iconic mountain peaks in the Pacific Northwest and served as the filming location for the exterior establishing shots of the infamous Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick's cinematic adaptation of Stephen King's terrifying novel, The Shining. This is an extremely rare public screening of the movie at Timberline and seating is limited."

The statement continued, saying, "Fans will have access to the hotel grounds for the day, as well as the interior of the lodge (the Cascade dining room, Ram's Head Bar & Restaurant, Wy'East Café, Y'Bar, history exhibit, gift shop, game room and more)." Sounds pretty exciting, doesn't it? But, you also need to know that there is no guarantee that the lift and the reception hall will be flooded with blood once again.

The tickets are priced at $70 and it is not a huge price to pay for this exclusive horror experience. But, if you need to get out of Oregon which could be costly if you're flying from the UK. Not only this, but you will also get a discount on rooms at the hotel, though, if that helps swing it for you. Additionally, if you are too scared to watch 'The Shining', On Set Cinema regularly puts on events that bring the movies to their locations. This includes movies like 'Hard Labor Creek' 'State Park/Camp Daniel Morgan', which were used as Camp Crystal Lake in the Friday the 13th' films. Other locations are like Amuzu Theatre in North Carolina and it was used as the Southport Community Theatre in teen slasher 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'.
