There is no official confirmation from Netflix's side as of now, and we are sorry to break it to you that there is a decent chance that the show will not be returning for a second season as it was designed and produced as a limited series. Looking back at all the press releases, we can see that it's clearly referred to as a limited series. The show did wrap up a nice way, and there's not much space in the storyline for a season 2.
Sadly, the show doesn't look to have performed very well on the streamer. It was absent from the global top 10 list released by Netflix, and it scored below 10.85 million hours viewed. Raw top 10 figures show that the show failed to make any inroads around the world and FlixPatrol reports show that the show was only there in the top 10 of the US and UK for a day before dropping out. That was all about the viewership; what about reviews, you ask? Well, in Joey's lingo from friends, the scores from critics were "abysmal." It holds 21% on RottenTomatoes, but audience scores so far have been much better compared to the critics.
The show is adapted from Mike Myers' film, So I married an Axe Murderer(1993). The show's plot follows the story of five men working for humanity since the Black Plague of 1347. The show tells us conspiracy theories of that time. The Pentaverate are the only people who are familiar with the real truth behind everything they did behind that mask. But, a Canadian journalist learns about this dark truth while he is on a mission, and now he is hell-bent on exposing everything. Here's the official logline of the show The Pentaverate,
