The show was initially supposed to be roughly based on the hit 1998 film The Parent Trap to include two female cousins. But the story was later modified to include a boy in an attempt to be appealing to boys as well. The first season of the show was mostly well-received leaving some ardent viewers to wonder if the show will be back for another season. Here's what we know so far:

Will There Be Season 2 Of Surviving Summer?

Netflix officially renewed Surviving Summer for a second season.

This news came as no surprise as the show managed to make it to the Top 10 list on Netflix with 20,300,000 hours viewed in just its first week. The show only went up from there, securing the series a second season.

Netflix has not announced the release date for Surviving Summer Season just yet. But the season has already begun filming. It began filming in February 2023 at the Great Ocean Road on Wadawurrung Country in Victoria.

The show is called "Surviving Summer" so we expect it to drop in the summer. Since filming began in February, it's highly unlikely that it will premiere this summer. Our best, and most educated guess is a summer 2024 release window.

What Is The Plot Of Surviving Summer Season 2?

In the highly anticipated second season of Surviving Summer, Summer Torres (Sky Katz) returns to Shorehaven, where she is eager to show off her surfing skills to her Australian friends. However, her life will not be without its challenges. She will face turbulent romances, a mysterious new coach, and a fierce rival surfer who is determined to defeat her. Will Summer be able to overcome these obstacles and achieve her goals? Only time will tell.

One thing is for sure, with Sian Davies and Christian Van Vuuren at the helm, Surviving Summer season 2 is sure to be another wild ride.
