Stacey Dash made an emotional confession after finding out that DMX had died over a year ago.

Stacey Dash paid tribute to fallen rapper DMX — more than a year after his untimely death. The “Clueless” and “Renaissance Man” actor apparently learned of the legendary rapper’s April 2021 death this week and got emotional about his fate resulting from a cocaine-induced heart attack. Dash, who was been candid about her past pill addiction, shared a video of herself Tuesday on TikTok and Instagram in which she appeared in tears over the year-old development.

“I was strolling through #tiktok and found a #DMX song that has saved me many times,” the 55-year-old wrote in the clip’s caption. “Suddenly it says #RIP i know I am late, i did not know he passed away, he #OD I am heartbroken – he was such a great guy.” “I’m ashamed,” she added while weeping in the video, which was set to Kim Hitt’s song “You Don’t Know.” “I didn’t know. I didn’t know DMX died. I didn’t know… from a cocaine overdose. I am, today, six years and one month clean and it breaks my heart,” she continued. “It breaks my heart that he lost to it. He lost. He lost to that demon of addiction. Please, please don’t lose.”

Many fans were confused by Dash's emotional video and some were shocked at her just now finding out that DMX is no longer here on Earth. "To be fair, i'm pretty sure Stacey Dash's social media algorithm ain't prioritizing rapper news. She prolly over there scroll through nothing but My Pillow ads and Herschel Walker sharpening crayons," joked comedian Roy Woods Jr., alluding to the actress' unwavering alliance to the Republican Party.

"Stacey Dash is a cautionary tale of what happens when you turn your back on your people. She’s been in Black exile for the past 6 years, I’m not shocked she just found out," tweeted journalist Kayla Sutton-Meyer. "Black exile is like sending info into space. It takes light years to get to them."

The former Fox News contributor later clarified (in the TikTok video’s comments section) that she missed news of the “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem” rapper’s death because she doesn’t “watch tv or read the news. So...🥺"

After being rushed to White Plains Hospital in New York, the Ruff Ryders rapper was on life support for days, and was pronounced dead on April 9, 2021. His death was confirmed to be from a cocaine-induced heart attack.

Six months after DMX’s passing, in October 2021, the 55-year-old actress went on The Dr. Oz Show to reveal her own drug addiction, opening up about how she was “taking 18 to 20 pills a day” while also discussing what she learned from being five years sober. “The greatest blessing is that not only have I been able to be honest with myself and become a better person, I’ve been able to understand my parents and that they did love me and that they were doing the best they could and they were just sick. They were addicted,” Dash told Dr. Oz at the time.
