Spice And Wolf Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

More than a decade has passed since fans last saw Lawrence and Holo in the anime series Spice and Wolf. The season finale was aired on September 24, 2009, and fans have since been endlessly waiting for a follow-up season to come. The anime is based on a Japanese light novel series of the same name by Isuna Hasekura. In 2016, the author announced that he is working on another volume of the novel series, which gave fans hope that Spice and Wolf season 3 is coming too. It's been seven years since the announcement, and we finally see a significant development in the anime series. Let's find out what's currently in store for Spice and Wolf. 

Is Spice and Wolf season 3 Still Coming? 

Despite public demand and countless petitions, the show creator himself has previously said he's not interested in creating season 3. However, in February 2022, we received a piece of exciting news. The official website of Author Isuna Hasekuras announced through a video that a new anime based on his 'Spice & Wolf' light novel series is officially happening!

We still do not know if this is going to be a sequel to the previous anime series, a remake, or an original work.

"Shall we embark on a journey again?" and "Holo the Wisewolf and Lawrence the Merchant's story continues.

This is surely a piece of much-welcomed news for fans who continued to talk about the show and are still relentlessly asking for Spice and Wolf season 3 in the last years.

The manga/novel-based anime world operates in a very different system. The anime series are often created as a sort of marketing tool to drive more sales for the book/ manga. The more popular the anime series is, the more books/mangas can be sold. Hasekura has continued to create more novel series for Spice and Wolf. The latest one was released on August 22, 2023, without any anime television series in place.

Since 2016, ASCII Media Works has published four volumes of a spin-off light novel series titled 'Wolf and Parchment.' We still don't know if this is going to be the basis for the newly announced animated project.

The first season of 'Spice & Wolf ' aired in Japan from January to March 2008, and the second season from July to September 2009.

When Is The Release Of Spice And Wolf Season 3?

Spice And Wolf Season 3 doesn't have an official release date but according to a source on Twitter, the new season is expected to premiere in 2024. An estimated release schedule is in July of 2024. But we will update this space once new details come in.

What Is Spice And Wolf All About? 

Spice and Wolf follows the adventure of Kraft Lawrence, a merchant who needs to earn money to start his shop. One night, Lawrence found a wolf-deity named Holo in his wagon. Holo is 600 years old but looks like a 15-year-old girl with a wolf tail and ear. Holo asks Lawrence to take her to her home. Along the way, Holo's wisdom helps Lawrence gain profit in trades. The show contains a lot of trading jargon and information regarding negotiation and bargaining presented creatively without boring the audience. The show's plot was blended so beautifully that it managed to make a fantasy world seem realistic, never too complex, nor too clumsy.
