Shakira Storms Off Stage After She Spots Fan ‘Filming Up Her Dress’ While Dancing

Shocking footage shows Shakira storming off stage on Saturday night (September 14) after fans appeared to try and film up her dress.

While common sense, I believe, would dictate that you should not do this, it still occurs, particularly when the victim is a celebrity, since many of us ‘ordinary folk’ appear to dehumanize them.

The 47-year-old took the stage at the esteemed LIV Miami nightclub in Florida to perform her new song, “Soltera,” which is scheduled for release at the end of the year.

Footage of the incident which led to Shakira marching off stage was captured on camera by revellers.

It features Shakira performing her distinctive dance movements while dancing on a little stage while wearing a gold sequin dress.

As she partied it up in front of adoring fans – the majority of which had their cameras on and filming her, she appeared to notice one that was shooting a little too low.

Shakira then appeared to be advising the person filming her to stick to filming her face and not her privates as she carried on with her party.

Then a few dance moves later, spotted them dropping the camera to record underneath her dress – at which point she held the front and back of her minidress and stormed off stage to the VIP section.

A supporter of Shakira said the following on Twitter: “Shakira can’t even enjoy and dance to her OWN song like??”

One more person remarked, “Why do creepy men ruin everything.”

While a third wrote on the social media platform: “That’s truly disappointing behavior. Artists deserve respect and privacy, both on and off stage. It’s crucial to ensure a safe environment for everyone.”

In Florida, it is against the law to film up someone’s skirt; this is known as voyeurism.

Lawyer Robert David Malove writes on his website: “Florida Statute 810.145 makes it illegal to secretly record or broadcast someone in an intimate state for reasons of personal interest or sexual gratification.

“Personal interest could include amusement, entertainment, profit, or degradation of the victim (such as “upskirting” or installing a hidden camera in someone’s bedroom).

“If your voyeurism offense included a phone, camera, or another imaging device to record the victim’s private areas, you would face enhanced criminal penalties.”
