The first Rush Hour film came out in 1998 and was an international hit. The film grossed $244 million at the worldwide box office. The film made both Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan character's into an iconic one. The plot revolves around two policemen from different nationalities and cultures teaming up with each other.

Both of them have to solve a criminal case and at first, their differences seem like a problem but soon after that, it becomes their strength. The two continue to spend time with each other, and the miscommunication between them creates really hilarious scenarios that comes packed  with a lot of martial arts and action. They become really good friends by the end of the first film.

The iconic duo got back on screen together for 'Rush hour 2'  that released in 2001. The sequel also did great at the worldwide box office. The film had grossed  $347.3 million worldwide.  The third sequel of the film didn't do as well as the previous one but now the makers are planning to make another film to add on to the franchise.

'Rush Hour 4' is happening and will get Chan and Tucker back together on the big screen. Earlier, Tucker had hinted about the film saying, "Jackie Chan wants to do it, I want to do it, [the] studio wants to do it, so we’re trying to get it together... I was definitely down as long as it comes together right. And it looks like it’s coming together right... gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.”

Chan also had said that they wanted to do another film, not for the paycheck but for the love for the franchise and fans. "It’s not about the money! It’s about being the right time to make it. Otherwise, Rush Hour 4 we’re all old men. I tell Chris Tucker, ‘Before we get old, please do Rush Hour 4." The earlier reports suggested that the two were taking a lot of time to finalize a proper script for the film.

Even for 'Rush Hour 3', the two had taken good time to finalize the script and make it interesting. In an interview with Collider, Chris Tucker talked about why they took so long for 'Rush Hour 3' to happen.

"A lot of things just came my way that really didn’t spark my interest, so I decided to step back and travel the world. And during my travels a lot of things I got involved in like in Africa, y’know, going on a lot of great trips because people knew who I was, because my celebrity and fame," he said.

He also spoke about learning Jewish for the film. "That’s right. Shalom. Oh, yeah. Yeah, Brett helps me out because he’s Jewish, so I practiced a little bit. I tell him sometimes I’m half Jewish too. My name is Chris Tuckenberg, ' he said.

He further spoke about his relationship with his co-star Jackie. " It’s great, it’s great. Because the first movie we really didn’t understand each other. Just like Jackie may have told you, we met in a meeting, because we had to meet with him so he could meet me and agree to do ‘Rush Hour."

"Because he didn’t know who I was, because I was an up and coming comedian and he knew who Eddie Murphy was, people like that, but we were talking the whole – well, I was talking to him the whole meeting, but he didn’t say anything," he added. He further spoke about what he thought of him when he first learned about him.

"And I didn’t know if he spoke English or not, so I asked Brett, ‘Does he speak English? Because he’s not talking.’ He said, ‘Don’t worry, he’ll learn English by the time we start filming.’ I said, ‘I can’t be funny if he doesn’t speak English.’ He said, ‘I’m just joking, he speaks English – that’s his culture. He’s just feeling you out.’ I said, ‘Alright, I’m in," he added.
