The anime series is pretty popular and fans are pinning their hope for renewal on the fact that the light novel is still in progress.
Restaurant to Another World aka Isekai Shokudō is a Japanese anime series adapted from the light novel series and manga of the same name. It was written by Junpei Inuzuka, with illustrations by Katsumi Enami. The story is about an unassuming restaurant that becomes a magical dining portal on Saturdays to another world inhabited by elves, dragons, and other fantastic creatures to relish exquisite food.
It was first announced that it was being adapted into an anime series by the author in a blog entry in 2016. The first season premiered in 2017 and was renewed for another season that premiered in 2021. In total, there are 24 episodes in the anime series that are well-loved. This is why fans of the show want to know if they will be getting more in the future.
The second season concluded only in December 2021. As of this writing, there's been no word on the third season. But the anime series is pretty popular, and fans are pinning their hope for renewal on the fact that the light novel is still in progress. Seven Seas Entertainment has taken on the rights to publish the novels. "We’ve really expanded our light novel line this year, and we’re happy to add this charming series to our 2019 releases," Seven Seas Publisher Jason DeAngelis had said at the time of publishing the English translations of the novel. "Restaurant to Another World’s delicious combination of fantasy and food inspired an anime, so it’s a real pleasure to bring the original version of the story into English."
The first season of the anime was pretty much in line with the first volume of the manga. Two chapters were adapted into one episode. But there were a lot of chapters that were skipped. The same took place with the second season as well as the anime was taken from across the four manga and six light novel volumes that have been published so far. In fact, the last two episodes of the second season had adapted chapters from the sixth volume of the light novel series that was published in October 2021, as per Anime Geek.
While the plot of the next season with exact chapter adaptations cannot be predicted, we can be sure that if renewed, it will follow the same quirky course of action as the source material. Like the customers in the story are left satisfied, so will the fans who get to watch the anime.
We can expect the repeating characters to return to the next season, including Master, Aletta, Kuro, Daiki Yamagata, Yomi, and the other support staff, including The Flying Puppy Owner, Shouta Kimura, The Leonhart Owner, and Haruko. We may also be meeting the multitude of other world patrons of the restaurant.
As of now, there has not been any news of another season. Anime productions are scheduled years in advance, as studios are booked for years to come. The anime for Restaurant to Another World was produced by two different studios as well. And taking into account the three-year gap between the first and second seasons, we can expect the next season to release no sooner than 2025.
