Bettany had a hard life before he found success in the entertainment industry. He lived in a small apartment and earned money by playing his guitar in the streets as a busker.

3. He Hates Being Late

Paul Bettany is never late, we'll except on this recent interview. Bettany came in 30 minutes late for his 3:00 pm zoom interview with Men's Health. Despite having being forgiven, the actor couldn't help but bring up the subject and apologized for his tardiness again.

"And again, I apologize for being late—I'm totally embarrassed," he told the publication. "I hate being late—I’m English! I’m never late."

4. He Loves Working With 'WandaVision' Co-star Elizabeth Olsen Because She's Never Late

Bettany's hatred for tardiness extends at work (well, most especially at work). This is one of the reasons why he loved working with Elizabeth Olsen

“I love working with Lizzie for a number of reasons. She’s incredibly punctual. And, I am too, and it drives me nuts when people are late. And, she’s never lazy. She’s fastidious. She always comes to set with an idea," Paul told Entertainment Weekly.

5. His Lovestory With Wife Jennifer Connelly Is As Dramatic As The Films

Paul Bettany had a long-time crush on Jennifer Connelly. He first saw her in films like 'Labyrinth' and 'Once Upon a Time In America.' They finally met in 2001 on the set of 'A Beautiful Mind,' but the filming wrapped up without romance blossoming.

However, the harrowing events of 9/11 have forced Bettany to make brave decisions. The tragic event made him realized how much he loved her. When he finally talked to her on the phone, he told her, "I'm coming over, let's get married."

6. He Thinks Emojis Are A “Sign Of Weakness.”

Don't expect Paul Bettany to ever send you emojis when you chat. He despises emojis so much, he thinks it is for the weak.

"Emojis? Absolutely not," Bettany answered when asked if he uses emojis. "I think they’re a sign of weakness, I try and use words. We used to be gaining words, and now we’re losing words, I would never use an emoji."

7. He Loves Greek Food

Paul Bettany is a big foodie, and he grew up eating curry. He loves Greek food because he thinks it's "so clean and honest and unpretentious.”

8. He Thought He Was Getting Fired Right Before He Found Out About 'WandaVision.'

After his character died in Infinity War, the Marvel bosses summoned Bettany. His initial thoughts were that he was getting fired. Little did he knew that he was getting pitched for a show.

"I looked at my wife, and I went, 'I think I'm getting the can.' I was very nervous as I go over there. I wanted everybody to feel comfortable and not feel icky about the whole thing because I thought they were going to be gentlemen and just look me in the face and say, 'It's over,'" Paul told Buzzfeed.

"So I went in, I said, 'Look, there's just absolutely no hard feelings. It's been a great run. Thank you so much.' And they were like, 'Are you quitting?' And I went, 'No, aren't you firing me?' And they went, 'No, we were gonna pitch you a TV show.' That's how I found out."

10. He and Co-Star Elizabeth Olsen Are Having A Hard Time Stifling Their Giggles In The Set Of 'WandaVision.'

Paul and Lizzie have been trying so hard to stop laughing in between takes.

"There is a moment, that I cannot right now formulate in my memory, that I just remember laughing every time we were looking at each other, and feeling the pressure of, like,

'You really have to suck it up right now.'" Elizabeth told Buzzfeed
