The fans are longing for a season 3? WIll Netflix consider making something set in the same universe as this one.
The amazing world-building of Pacific Rim: The Black made it a hit among viewers. The series shares its universe with that of the Guillermo Del Toro film from 2013. The first two seasons got positive reviews and ratings and people are already longing for season 3. The universe still has enough space to fit more stories so will the franchise return once again? Let's find out...
Unfortunately enough, we won't be seeing another season. However, there's a silver lining to this sad news. We think that the universe still lives on and Netflix can drop a different story from the same universe. If the creators decide to focus on a different story strand that eventually is a part of a bigger plan, then Netflix may as well allow for that to happen as there's no other streamer or publication working on this universe. This means, if Netflix decides to continue then it will someday own this universe.
Set in the same universe as the 2013 film, the series shows the alternate version of events that took place. Kaiju, a race of monsters, arises from the Pacific Rim attacking the continent of Australia. Humans try and defend themselves by building gigantic robot arms and Jaegars. In the center of the scene are siblings Taylor and Hayley Travis who are left behind by their parents who have gone to fight the monsters. Five years down the lane, Hayley finds a long-abandoned training Jaeger called Atlas Destroyer which the two of them activate and set on a journey to find their parents. However, the plan soon becomes all doom and no gloom when Kaiju gets an activation alarm. To save themselves the two siblings set out of Sydney Base to meet Boy and Mei. Soon their mission shifts from finding their parents to fighting for the world. In Season 2 we are introduced to a boy who has the ability to turn into a Kaiju. He flaunts a permanent scar that shows his true identity as a fighter.
The voice cast list includes Gideon Adlon as Hayley Travis, Camryn Jones as young Hayley Travis, Calum Worthy as Taylor Travis, Cole Keriazakos as young Taylor Travis, Erica Lindbeck as Loa, Ben Diskin as Kaiju Boy, Victoria Grace as Mei, Andy McPhee as Shane.
No, let's just pray for a new project set in this universe.
