Depp seems to deflect the concern with a joke and while the two share a laugh, Johnson continues to keep a close watch on Depp.
As the Johnny Depp - Amber Heard trial is in full swing, a lot of events from the past have come to light. This includes the time Heard allegedly threw a bottle of vodka at Depp, severing part of his finger.
This incident took place in 2015 when Depp was shooting for Pirates of the Caribbean in Australia. The same year, Depp was also promoting his film Black Mass, in which he co-starred with Dakota Johnson. It had been a few months since his finger was operated back together. But his hand was still bandaged. Now, a video from the film's press conference where Johnson shows concern about Depp's bandaged hand is now going viral.
The two actors are seated next to each other and Johnson seems to enquire about Depp's injured hand. He seems to deflect the question with a joke and the two share a laugh. But Johnson continues to keep a close watch on Depp. The Dark Shadows actor then looks visibly tensed and his hands tremble a little as well. He then takes a sip of beer to calm his nerves. Johnson seems to be glancing in his direction from time to time as well.
The 57-year-old testified about the incident in court recently as well. There are two versions of the story. While Depp claims that Heard threw a vodka bottle at him, Heard has previously stated that the finger severed after he smashed a telephone into a wall. She also claimed that it was the second day of her "three-day hostage situation" as reported by the Daily Mail. She alleged that she was abused and tortured by Depp during these three days. He has denied these allegations calling them "sick claims" that are "completely untrue."
"I was staring at BONE. The MEATY portion of my finger. All I could see WAS BLOOD. I had a nervous breakdown I knew in my heart, THIS ISNT LIFE. NO ONE should have to go through this. Amidst the madness, I hid again."

In the recent trial, Depp revisited the incident and explained, “Blood was pouring out. I think I went into some sort of … I don’t know what a nervous breakdown feels like, but that’s probably the closest that I’ve ever been. Nothing made sense.” He then hid in the bathroom and was later taken to the hospital. At the time he had lied that his finger had been caught in large accordion doors. “I lied because ... I didn’t want to disclose that it had been Ms. Heard that had thrown a vodka bottle at me and took my finger off,” he stated, as reported by The Guardian. “I didn’t want to get her in trouble.”

Jurors were shown the graphic image of Depp's bloody, severed finger as well. Dr. David Kipper, Depp’s private physician and addiction also testified. He had treated Depp's sliced finger and shared that he cleaned his wound before taking him to the hospital. When he went back to look for the missing part of the finger he said there was “broken glass” in the kitchen and “there was blood around the home.” Depp had said that he had cut it with a knife. Dr. Kipper also said that he had never treated Heard for any physical injuries and she had approached him only once after claiming to have hit her head. There was no physical injury recorded.

Depp’s private security guard Sean Bett had also witnessed the couple's relationship get more and more violent over the years. “This can’t continue. You guys are either going to kill each other or you’re going to be in jail,” he had warned in the past.
