Sony Pictures has dropped a new image from the upcoming Uncharted movie. It gives us a first look at Tom Holland as Nathan Drake and Mark Wahlberg as his sidekick Victor Sullivan. The image was revealed via NY Times and shows the two explorers doing what they do best --- exploring.

Many criticized Sony's decision to cast Tom Holland as Nathan Drake based on the assumption that he is too young. However, looking at the photo, he does actually seem like a fair fit for the role.

Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg will be joined by Antonio Banderas, Sophia Taylor Ali, and Tati Gabrielle in the cast.

The Uncharted film is set to release on February 18, 2022, and will act as a prequel to the story in the video games. It will follow a young Nathan Drake and will explore how he met his comrade and partner in crime Victor Sullivan. Venom director Ruben Fleischer helms the film from a script written by Art Marcum and Matt Holloway.

The Uncharted movie is moving forward slowly but surely. Filming began on March 16, 2020, and after suffering many delays, it finally ended on October 29. Tom Holland wrapped up all his scenes on October 23.

It will be just one of Hollywood's many video game adaptations that will grace us in the coming years.

Other games being adapted into films by Sony are The Last Of Us at HBO, Twisted Metal, and Ghost of Tsushima.

Netflix is developing shows based on Assassin’s Creed, Resident Evil, Splinter Cell, and Cuphead games.

Paramount Plus is developing a show based on HALO

Amazon is developing something based on the Fallout video game franchise.

Lionsgate is adapting the Borderland games.

J.J. Abram is working with WB to produce an adaptation for Portal.

Nintendo and Illumination Entertainment are developing a new Mario Movie.

Are you looking forward to seeing all these games adapted into films?
