Things are about to get even creepier on Netflix.
Back in July 2021, the Fear Street film adaptations completely dominated Netflix. Everyone was talking about it and it became an almost instant hit. A year later, the Fear Street fever isn't as prevalent but it's still in our minds and sometimes, in our nightmares.
Netflix is going to try to capitalize on that some more with a whole new Fear Street series.
According to trusted and proven sources close to Giant Freakin Robot, Netflix is already developing the new Fear Street series with original director Leigh Janiak involved. The news is set to be announced soon, probably sometime after the Stranger Things Season 4 finale.
The sources say that the first Fear Street series wasn't very expensive for the streaming giant to make, so the company's financial woes probably won't affect the progression of the new series. The actors in the first series were young and not as pricey as the big names of Dwyane Johnson and Ryan Reynolds.
The sources say that the new Fear Street series will follow Billy Barker.
Billy Barker was in the 2021 Fear Street movies. He was described as a young and deformed boy who bludgeoned his brothers to death with a baseball bat in 1922. He first appeared in the finale of Fear Street 1978 and a newspaper clipping in Fear Street 1994.
