Chris Hemsworth's Extraction is Netflix's most viewed original film ever.

Netflix has released a list of its ten most popular original films of all time, and honestly, the result isn't so surprising.

The giant streaming platform isn't fond of revealing viewing figures, but they often release reports when a particular film or show is doing well.

Sitting comfortably at the top spot of Netflix's official list is Chris Hemsworth's thriller Extraction. The film premiered on April 24, 2020, and has since amassed a total of  99 million views.

This isn't surprising considering the show's enormous success prompting a sequel to be announced just a few weeks since Extraction's released.

Coming in the fourth spot is Ryan Reynolds' action thriller film 6 Underground with 83 Million views, while  Murder Mystery starring Adam Sandler, Jennifer Aniston, and Luke Evans secured the fifth spot with 83 Million views.

Below is Netflix's full list of the most popular original films of all time:

1) Extraction – 99 Million

3) Spenser Confidential – 85 Million
4) 6 Underground – 83 Million

On an important note, Netflix has recently changed how it registers views.

Netflix used to count a view just after a user streamed at least 70 percent of a title. However, the streaming platform now only requires at least two minutes watch time from a user to count one view.

While these may have significantly changed the viewership statistics, these could come as an excellent advantage for different titles.

Chris Hemsworth has since thanked fans for the utmost support following the release of the list.

The actor took to Instagram to personally express his gratitude and wrote: "Can't thank everyone enough for the continued support of Extraction! Still going strong and sitting at number 1 biggest film ever for Netflix. You guys are the greatest."

Extraction is based on the 2014 graphic novel Ciudad by Ande Parks. Directed by Sam Hargrave, the film follows Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a black market mercenary who is tasked to rescue the kidnapped son of a notorious crime lord.
