Kurt Russell And Wyatt Russell Join Apple TV+ Series Focused On Godzilla And The Titans

It is not yet known if the series used Kurt’s and Wyatt's real-life father-son relationship on screen also.

The father and son duo, Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell have boarded the Apple TV+ MonsterVerse series focused on Godzilla and the Titans.



 

Their roles weren’t divulged, but the pair will star alongside Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski. The series promises to expand the Legendary cinematic universe by giving us a new look at all the fantastic creatures that populate planet Earth after the explosive ending of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.



 

Apple TV+ announced a series order for a new original live-action series from Legendary’s Monsterverse franchise.

Kurt is a legendary actor known for his roles in films like Escape from New York and Escape from LA, The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, Backdraft, and Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He has also starred in the Quentin Tarantino films Death Proof and The Hateful Eight while he had a minor role in Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood. He began his career as a child star in multiple television shows and Disney films like The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes.



 

Wyatt is known for his starring role in the AMC series Lodge 49 as well as for shows like The Good Lord Bird and Under the Banner of Heaven. He is also part of the MCU like his father, having starred in the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. He has starred in films such as Everybody Wants Some, 22 Jump Street, and Overlord.



 

The official synopsis reads: "Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the untitled series will explore one family's journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch."

The plot of the upcoming series will focus on one family's journey through a world where titans exist, and they'll come to discover their ties to the secret organization known as Monarch along the way. It is not yet known if the series used Kurt’s and Wyatt's real-life father-son relationship on screen also.



 

WandaVision’s Matthew Shakman will direct the first two episodes, which are produced by Legendary Television and exec produced by co-creators Chris Black and Matt Fraction. The series is also executive produced by Safehouse Pictures’ Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold and Toho Co.’s Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita.

The release date for the upcoming show is not yet announced.
