Hey there, Dino lovers, a lengthy speculation waiting for you, read on!
What reloaded in 2015 in order to take us back to what originally started out in 1993 by Steven Spielberg is now all set to return to our screens. Yes, I am talking about the global cinematic phenomenon Jurassic Park, now Jurassic World. The franchise has come a long way with its multiple sequels whose latest addition is Chris Patt and Bryce Dallas Howard's Jurrasic World. However, the open ending of the third installment of Jurassic World has fans wondering if this really is the end. If you are one of them, you have come to the right place, continue reading the article till the end to find out everything that's coming in the eccentric world of dinosaurs!
Sorry to disappoint all the dino fans, but there is no release date for Jurassic World 4. Jurassic World Dominion just released this year, so it's safe to say that the movie's reception will determine the continuation of the franchise. However, in an interview back in September with Empire, filmmaker Colin Trevorrow said that he has heard that the last two parts of the franchise might be pushed as the Series's final chapters and that the production house has someone else in mind as director for the last two installments. On the Other hand, Producer Franck Marshall told Slash Film in an interview that despite dominion being the last chapter of the Jurassic World trilogy, more movies are planned. He said,
I think that ‘Dominion’s’ going to wrap up this trilogy, but we’re not resting on our laurels. We’re going to sit down, and we’re going to see what the future is, We have that wonderful series, ‘Camp Cretaceous,’ on Netflix. We obviously want to make quality, good movies with great storytelling, great writers and directors, but we’re definitely looking to do more in the ‘Jurassic’ world.
So that means that despite nothing being confirmed, we still have something optimistic to cling to, no?
There's hardly any information on the upcoming additions to this franchise. However, we do know that the last movie didn't really tie the loose ends together, the ending was more on the "open" side, and there are loads to build upon when it comes to the plotlines.
At the end of the last movie, we saw that the road to human and dinosaur cohabitation still has a long way to go. They showed us illegal dino black markets and T-Rex gobbling people off the streets, and we got to see how corrupt corporation Biosyn played with prehistoric genetics, which almost led to an apocalypse. In another interview, Colin hinted that the next movie in the franchise would follow the new characters and build new character arcs.
Well, information on who is joining the cast is pretty scarce. However, if Trevorrow's statements hold truth, Wise and Athie might return. Chris Pratt, who played Owen Grady, and also Bryce Dallas Howard, who plays Claire Dearing, might reprise their roles. Watch the space for further updates.
Nada! Let's hope for confirmation, and everything else will follow automatically!
