Jenna Ortega Set to Cast in ‘Beetlejuice’ Sequel At Warner Bros Per Speculations

The 'Wednesday' star is rumored to be in talks with Tim Burton about the upcoming sequel of goth-horror classic, 'Beetlejuice.'

Jenna Ortega who recently shot to fame with her series Wednesday is now set to come back on the screen with another gothic horror-themed classic. As per reports of Deadline, Ortega is in early talks to reunite with the Wednesday creator of Beetlejuice 2 at Warner Bros. Timothy Walter Burton famously known as Tim Burton is a renowned gothic fantasy and horror filmmaker, and the news of another reprisal in progress enthralled the fans. As if the hype of the Addam’s Family show wasn’t enough, Ortega’s dark comedic role in Wednesday kept the fans hooked to the show who wanted more of her in similar roles.

Anticipation around more such stoic and gothic horror in making was gaining pace with the astounding success of the show Wednesday. The plot of Beetlejuice 2 would revolve around the original movie. If the contract is struck, Ortega is expected to portray Lydia, the character played by Winona Ryder in the original. The original film also starred Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones, and Catherine O'Hara and made $80 million on a $15 million budget, earning the best makeup Oscar at the 1989 Academy Awards.

Not much has been revealed about the plot or expected release date of the movie but if the rumors are to be believed we will get confirmation soon. Ortega has recently been on a run, highlighted by her record-breaking Addams Family series, Wednesday. The sitcom broke Netflix watching records and was renewed for a second season. The production hopes to shoot in London in late May or early June, but no budget has been determined, resulting in a back-and-forth.
