'God Eater' is a sci-fi anime series that is an adaptation of the God Eater video game franchise. It is created by Shift and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The video game and the TV series are set in a post-apocalyptic future where man-eating creatures called Aragami have taken humanity on the verge of extinction. These monsters aren't easy to kill as they cannot be defeated with conventional weapons either. Therefore, an organization called Fenrir has created weapons called God Arcs that can defeat these monsters.
This series is amazing and captivating, and fans have shown immense admiration for it. Those who make these weapons are badasses who are called God Eaters. The original game was released for the first time in 2010 for the PlayStation Portable, with God Eater 2 and God Eater 3 released in 2013 and 2018, respectively. The God Eater anime was made to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the very loved video game franchise. Even though it has been a long time since the last season came out, fans still are waiting for the second season to arrive, and here is everything we know about the second installment.
At this time, there is no official information available regarding the release of the second installment of 'God Eater'. While there were rumors that it would be released in late 2019, it seems that this was not the case as we are now in 2023. As of this update, there is still no news about season 2. However, given that the first season of 'God Eater' was released on July 12, 2015, and the fact that the video game brand is incredibly popular, we remain hopeful that a second season will eventually be released. Additionally, there is more source material available for the show following the release of God Eater 3 in 2018.
If season 2 happens, fans will see Lenka Utsugi as the new lead character, along with Lindow losing his arm during a bloody battle with the Aragami. The second season might also welcome Lindow and Shio along with another hero character.
