Elizabeth Tulloch's friends used to call her “Bitsie", not because of her first name but as a tribute to her oddly-nicknamed grandfather, who was a World War II bomber pilot.
Tulloch even went as far as changing her legal name to “Bitsie” because everyone was calling her by that name. Some of her projects, like Grimm, was credited under the name Bitsie Tulloch.

Unfortunately, he passed a year ago. Elizabeth Tulloch misses him a lot. She continues to bring his photo on the set of Superman and Lois, just like she used to in Grimm.
Aside from playing Superman's romantic interest Lois Lane, Elizabeth Tulloch was known for her role as Juliette Silverton / Eve in the fantasy police procedural drama series, Grimm. We already talked about why Elizabeth decided to legally change her name to Bitsie. However, a few years after, she realized she wanted her old name back.
In an interview with Niagara Frontier, Elizabeth explained the reason why she decided to revert to her old name when she reached 30's. Luckily, her producers had no problem with her decision.
"I still go by Bitsie. I still introduce myself as Bitsie to people I meet. But it sort of worked when I was in my mid-20s, and I was just starting acting. And now I'm in my mid-30s, and I felt like, for billing purposes, I wanted to go back to Elizabeth. I was doing a movie... and it actually hadn't even occurred to me. And the producer was, like, 'Hey, we noticed it's Elizabeth when we were filling out your legal papers. Is that the way you want billing?' And I just thought about it, and I called my agent and my manager, and they were like, "Yeah, you know, that's not a bad idea. You are older now. And Bitsie is, obviously, a very kind of cute name. It's cutesy." So, that's really all it was about. It's not like I introduce myself as Elizabeth now. It's just for billing, going forward."
Elizabeth Tulloch first met her husband, David Giuntoli, at the set of Caroline and Jackie. They starred alongside each other in that film back in 2011 and reconnected again after Tulloch got hired for her role in Grimm.
The couple announced their relationship back in 2014, and they were engaged in 2016. They tied the knot in June 2017 and welcomed their first child in February 2019.

During an interview with the Collider, she was asked if the show's "starting over story" is what sets Superman & Lois apart from other superhero shows and other tellings of Superman.
Tulloch admitted: "To be honest with you, I haven’t seen any of the Superman movies or TV shows, except for the [Richard] Donner films with Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder, so I wouldn’t know. But I’ve been told enough times now that I know this is the first time you’re seeing Lois and Clark as parents, at least on screen and, and not just parents, but parents of two kids."
Grimm aired from 2011-2017, and while the long-running series was a big success, Elizabeth Tulloch was not sure if she wanted to take another long ride with a different show despite its huge potential.
In the same interview with Collider, Tulloch revealed that she was pregnant and was facing so many changes in her life when she got the offer to play Lois Lane.
"I was hesitant, in the sense that when we do sign onto something like this, you are signing up to do it for a number of years. I also, when I booked this role, was pregnant, so my life was about to change drastically, no matter what. It was like, “Oh, I have to make this decision now. Factoring in the fact that I’m gonna have a baby and that I have a husband who’s [an actor]."
Luckily, her husband is also shooting A Million Little Things in Vancouver, the same city where she will be shooting the series. The two were able to keep their family together, and things worked out just fine.
